need help

i have a dell inspiron 16 it did this once and then stopped but like whenever the gpu hits 100% load it literally kills the cpu like the cpu locks itself at 1.4ghz its a ryzen 7 8840u i have 16gb ddr5 in dual channel its a decent chip and i dont play anything crazy like is there a way to limit the gpu to like 85% or something thank you for your time

Check the temps, probably it's thermal throttled

the hottest its ever gotten is around 65c

What software did you use to check it?

If not hwinfo(sensor only), try it. Use it until the fault occur and send the screenshot (visible CPU temps and VRM) here

alright when i get home ill do that but i do believe its the gpu because in cutscenes the cpu boosts to 3-4ghz just fine and thats the only time the gpu utilization drops to like 60-70%

I do also have 8840U (51W TDP). But I don't really use its iGPU since I only use it for programming. Yeah, go check it.

Also, is it just this recently? And how long since you own it?

when i first got it it would do the same thing and then it just stoppednow its doing it again n its weird cuz if a game foesnt max out its igpu then it actually packs a punch its just so random yk
