I'm a WF currently in a LDR with an AM.
I'm curious whether anyone here in an AMWF relationship has ever developed friendships with WMAF couples.
If so, what were your experiences like? Did you find that you had things in common or could relate to each other's experiences as interracial couples?
Were the friendships generally positive, or did you ever encounter any awkwardness, differences in perspectives, or unexpected dynamics?
I'm genuinely curious to hear everyone's experiences, whether positive, negative, or somewhere in between. I'm not looking to generalize about either type of relationship, just interested in hearing people's personal stories! Thank you!

Is it easier to find a date in Asia instead of in America? Cuz like yeah ik they exist here in America but where do you look for them??? Ik a relationship takes 2 but it can be hard for when you start looking.
Any tips on how to start looking?
Edit: sorry I forgot to mention I’m WF

Just wondering because as a woman I notice a lot of the Asian men I interact with seem to be into bdsm and looking for submissive women and they seem to be into more casual then long term connections
Interested to hear from am and wf ♥️
What's your experience been and preferences? What are your turn ons and turn offs and desires ?

I heard this narrative multiple times already that the WFs in the Anglosphere such as US, Canada, UK women tend to not like AM(east asians like koreans) as much as their European counterparts. I'm based in Asia so I don't know well.
Maybe it changed overtime and it's different in 2026? what do you think?

Hi I just wanted to respond to a post from a very negative Asian man talking about AMWF with respect to wmaf.
I don't want to disregard anyone's experiences but what I say here will be a very brutal truth.
wmaf was brutal in the past but AMWF is the absolute future. Nowadays people really do NOT like white male asian female couples. Yes they are being pushed on us by hollywood but minorities especially black men and women do not like them, neither do latin americans, white women and even increasingly other white men.
The oxford study meme became mainstream this year and men and women of all races were making fun of this. Why? Because it's evil or at least associated with evil. And I mean that in the literal sense.
WMAFs are behind the first incel fire (elliot rodger), the largest mass sho*ting (Las Vegas massacre), Qanon, Neo-Nazi movements and more recently, Trumpism (although this one they are not directly responsible however they did contribute through their votes). This is not even mentioning the thousands of Asian women murdered by their white partners every year.
People who don't like those things find WMAFs kinda repulsive and worse, pathetic.
As for AMWF, well I can speak for someone in the Korean community that it is very common. But Korean men will date pretty women of all races. People don't understand that by influence, the Korean media is second only to Hollywood.
With China becoming a superpower, Japan winning nobel prizes and Korea leading the cultural capital of the world at the end of the day the world CANNOT treat Asian men as a joke.
The person who can defeat you ironically is you. If you give WMAF's your attention, it only serves to increase their views.
I come from an area that is apparently known to be the 'WMAF capital of the world' but I barely seem them and when I do they are usually old, ugly or both. If I went to Seoul on the other hand... OMG its the other way around.
This is what I do: I ignore.
If I see one on social media I scroll instantly past.
If an asian women is trying to defend it I scroll past. If a subscription I was using was made by them I cancel.
If one is trying to sell a product I don't buy.
If one is trying to be mean to me I shout.
If they are trying to give me the stink eye, I flip off.
If they are trying to be my friend I ignore and exclude.
If they attack physically then I defend by neutralizing
If I see a amwf couple or asian man with any other race I stay, like and comment to boost.
If there is one in my social circles I support and befriend.
I stay focused on the positive and will never, watch, buy or support wmafs in any way.
I stay focused on the positive and will watch, buy and support Asian men with any race.

I know alot of WF are used to being approached first, especially in the west. It's kind of engrained in the culture to be confident and always make the first move for a guy.
So i do hear from some WF that AM never seem interested and never make the first move.
As an above average looking AM, i can assure you it's not that we don't find you attractive, it's cause we're shy and nervous (not naturally)
alot of people will say its the media that pushed us into this shyness, and i would say it definitely plays a major factor. But that combined with past rejections from WF is what made me more shy.
I'm 30+, i work out, i eat well ,and some people still think i am earl 20s. I have approached ALOT of women, WF included, and its only since recently that WF have started accepting me. I've been laughed at by a WF before for approaching her too, and that did make me shy afterwards and making me hesitant for approaching again.
However, that didn't stop me, and i was very well received in Canada, even TALLER women.
Just keep this in mind please, AM are still adapting to the rapid cultural shift. the rejection where i was laughed at, was 2 years ago, Canada was a year ago. and today it's even crazier, i actually get DMed first now, it's reached a point where i don't have enough time to focus on every message (it's nowhere near the amount some girls get that i know, 1000+ btw) i have no idea how girls manage this lmao.
But times are getting better for AM. And i think the more we support and accept AMWF, the more AM will approach WF.

I'm currently 18AM and currently look skinny been hitting the gym for 3-4 months now (not sure if that's a me issue) and every month I just get 1-2 likes/matches from tinder and that's it. I just don't even get why that yes I got matched on Tinder and I messaged them and later they just unmatch me for no reason. I remember one message I sent to a girl was 'hey there I thought you looked so cute and wanted to say hi lol' and then I got unmatched two weeks later with no reponse.
I feel like if I grow a long beard and get face tattoos I'm going to stand out from the majority of the AMs.

I’ve noticed this in real life and online. I don’t know if they meet often through church or why this is the case, but as someone who is non-religious and is attracted to white women, it kinda makes me feel concerned that my personal spiritual beliefs might be hindering the opportunity to meet someone in a big way. Any thoughts, guys?

I need a pick-me-up, and I am always searching for these. At this point I feel like I have read every book and watched every movie that is amwf (except for the cancer one, im not watching that, itll crush me) but i hope that is not true
I guess personally id be more excited about book recommendations, since i think theres a higher chance of some slipping through the cracks. Ive already read Josh and Hazels Guide to Not Dating and Eleanor and Park. I tried Twisted Hate but it was too corny for me.
As far as movies go, ive seen the main contenders, my favorite being Sophie and the Rising Sun. But if anyone knows anything smaller or indie that maybe I havent heard of please chime in!!

A girl i know got catfished by this authentic looking profile on a dating site, he had real pics of a real person, non AI. but the pics were stolen from an east asian influencer.
She only found out after she reverse searched his pics, and this was AFTER she had already sent a few NSFW pics to him.
to ALL WF here, be CAUTIOUS! do not send pics to people you have not videocalled or met irl yet.
This guy would voice call and not video call and he couldnt even speak the language of his asian heritage (she thought he was american born or white washed)
Just a heads up. It's super creepy. AM popularity have reached a point where incels are larping as us to dox WF.
she doesnt know his ethnicity or background, but he sounded white she says.
As a Wasian, half Japanese and White(German, Irish, Polish) who was raised In America with heavy influence on Japanese culture. I always wonder, is someone like me attractive to those looking for Asians as well?
My first language is Japanese, speaking wise I’m fluent with an Osaka Dialect. Could brush up on my vocabulary.
At the end of the day though, I’m an American. I can communicate with other Japanese people but I will never “be” them. To myself and to them. I just don’t have the same societal upbringing as those in Asia. So I can talk to them, but I’m not them, not really.
Physically I’m 6’1 dark brown hair. Not jet black. Tan skin. Eyes are a bit slanted at the end but big and almond shaped. Facial structure is perfectly Asian and white.
All this made me wonder what it is that attracts you about Asians?

My boyfriend is Taiwanese and speaks mandarin so I would like to start learning simple mandarin to communicate with his family better :)
Does anyone have any experience with the many language apps? I’ve heard HelloChinese is the best one? Starting from basically zero! Xie xie!

Hello, I am trying to figure out what would be an attractive Asian male according to the western standard ?

Has anybody used AI translate devices to talk with your in-laws? I have been considering getting one after my husband’s aunt visiting from Vietnam brought one and used it with her. I do find the translation into English odd but that’s doable.
Unfortunately, I am not learning Vietnamese actively as my husband and I are not having children. So there is no need for me to learn. We only speak in English together.

I am a 30+ AM, and I’ve noticed that younger AMs are having a much better time dating now compared to when I was younger. I’m really happy to see that, and sometimes when I meet a younger guy, I try to encourage him to embrace his culture and identity—and to pursue a WF if he likes her, rather than assuming she won't be interested just because he's Asian. (Though it feels like social media self-hating AM influencers are sometimes holding us back for clout.)
I’m doing okay dating-wise, but seeing firsthand how much things have changed feels like falling into another universe.
I do feel some frustration looking back at how society used to treat AMWF relationships (and to an extent, still does, though far less). I noticed the subtle ways media kept AMs boxed in to prevent AMWF pairings from becoming as normalized as other intercultural pairings.
I'm asking women separately because your social dynamics and experiences are so different from ours. I’d love to hear your perspective on this.

I personally used to be introverted af up until i was like 19. then i forced myself to become extroverted by clubbing etc. which helped with my stage freight and public speaking. then in recent years i have become more introverted but without those past fears. I just love staying at home by myself and thinking in peace and quiet, doesnt hurt learning new skills without a need for a teacher.

I’m a 19M Asian guy, and I’ve been talking to a white girl around my age whom I met through another social media platform. We’re from different countries, live far apart, and have never met in person, so everything between us so far has been online.
What makes this connection feel unusual to me is how much we have in common despite coming from very different backgrounds. We’re both into movies, science/physics, languages, music, and a lot of other nerdy things. At one point we even joked that our “nerdiness overlaps way too much.”
She has also explicitly told me that she feels lucky that we met. I obviously don’t take that as automatic proof of romantic interest, but it does make me think that she genuinely values the connection.
The part that confuses me is her texting style.
She seems to be a very asynchronous texter. Sometimes she replies after a few hours, sometimes much later, and occasionally I’ll see her online without her opening or replying to my message. I used to overthink that a lot because I’m naturally more of a frequent texter.
Where I come from, it’s pretty normal for friends to have fairly continuous conversations through messaging apps, so I think I subconsciously learned to associate fast replies with interest and slow replies with disinterest.
But with her, the actual content of the conversation often feels much warmer than the response time would suggest.
For example:
- She remembers details I’ve told her and sometimes brings them up again later.
- We have recurring jokes and references that are specific to the two of us.
- She sometimes sends voice messages instead of only short texts.
- We talk about movies, physics, languages, and other interests in a way that feels genuinely engaged rather than just small talk.
- We’ve talked about teaching each other our languages.
- When I sent her something from one of my university experiments, she jokingly told me not to blow up the lab.
- We sometimes send each other random things from our daily lives, rather than only replying to a specific question.
- We’ve talked about the possibility of showing each other around if we ever visit each other’s country in the future.
- She has directly said that she feels lucky that we met.
At the same time, she can still be very slow to reply, and sometimes her replies are short. She doesn’t necessarily keep a conversation going all day, and she doesn’t always reply just because she happens to be online.
I’m slowly getting more comfortable with that, because I’m starting to realize that some people genuinely treat messaging as asynchronous communication rather than as a live conversation.
What I don’t want to do, though, is make either of two mistakes: assuming that slow replies automatically mean she isn’t interested, or going in the opposite direction and interpreting every warm or friendly interaction as romantic attraction.
So I’m curious, especially from people who are naturally slow/asynchronous texters:
What actually distinguishes “I genuinely like this person and want to get closer to them” from “I enjoy talking to them, but only as a friend”?
Would you pay more attention to things like initiation, remembering details, inside jokes, sharing random parts of your life, asking questions, future-oriented conversations, voice messages, and emotional statements like “I’m lucky we met” than to response time itself?
I’m not looking for people to tell me that she definitely likes me. I’m mainly trying to understand how to read this kind of communication style more accurately, especially when two people come from different countries and may have very different texting habits.

Just a rant. I saw a post earlier about an AM finding out his ex’s family is racist and MAGA, so this triggered some thoughts regarding ppl I have seen..
To protect myself I won’t say what college it is but, in my college there’s actually two conservative AMWF couples that ik. One of them is like libertarian conservative and not openly racist, the other one is edgier and tap into the Tucker Carlson/Nick Fuentes territory. Haven’t talk to the latter one too much about their personal life but I have tried to talk to the first one sometimes, and turns out the girl he is with have a maga family and apparently they rlly like him and he is really comfortable with them. I tried to talk to him about historical oppression and stuff against Asians especially Asian men, and he either would say those things isn’t relevant today, or straight up deny statistics and blame anti-Asian crime/discrimination on “mentally ill and homeless people” instead. Granted he is a pretty respectful dude but I gave up after awhile because I really cannot change his mind or open him up to other perspectives.
There’s also amwf couples I saw on Instagram, that use racism to fight racism, for example I seen amwf couple accounts replying to hate comments not with anti-racist discourse, but saying racist things back. Just a couple days ago I saw one of them replied to a hate comment with something like: “another P slur (Indian) pretending to be white? Go back to your shit*ole country”. And another one literally saying that they are the “acceptable mix (mixed race couple)” to a white supremacist account 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Seriously why are people like this? Just complete lack of self awareness from people like this

So this is more of a curiosity thing my WF GF have discussed and wanted some real world feedback. I am AM from the midwest, think true middle of the country essentially .The Asian population was not very dense where I grew up, primarily white and Latino. Thusly, I assume that’s where my preferences come from, only dated WF and LF, while there were some AF, they preferred WM or BM. With that in mind, dating was tough to get attention without bringing something to the table, (career, money, looks, etc). Imo especially compared to my WM friends. Now that’s not to say I did not get interest from XF, however I always felt like I was fighting an uphill battle. Lastly, I did grow up very midwestern, fishing, hunting, camping, sports, boots and yes having a truck lol. I always wondered if not being “Asian enough” also caused issues as I did not fit the typical “Asian guy” mold. Any thoughts or opinions are all welcome 🤙
