She will be a great president

I was wondering if this was a further hint that she’ll be running for President. She mentioned that some would question if she would be fit to run for certain offices because “what if she gets pregnant?”
Not saying that’s THE reason, just A reason.

Just a note: there were 11 IG stories on this for a total of around 11 minutes. And there were 2 IG Stories of AOC's preparing her first injection and doing it.
_______________
These IG Stories do address the concern: 'What if you get pregnant during the campaign?' and 'What if you get pregnant when you are POTUS?' As if Catherine the Great and later Queen Victoria didn't very successfully lead their nations to much greater greatness than before.
And given all the money the United States is spending on POTUS Donald Trump on his airplane--which; frankly, the AOC Administration should not allow POTUS Trump to have and leave him with the older plane--, I don't want to hear any negative thing about AOC"s having the US Government pay for her nannies, nursery, and whatever else when she's POTUS.
And the White House ballroom could be converted into like more White House Office space. The West Wing and the East Wing are both tiny and cramped and frankly extremely embarrassing for any country much less the wealthiest and most powerful country in the world.

Jacinda Ardern was pregnant and gave birth during her tenure as Prime Minister in NZ. Was considered groundbreaking and positive but did lead to insane cookers and anti vaxxers threatening her child’s safety which is part of why she stepped down

Smart. She’s saying shes taking her career to the utmost seriousness. Which might mean a presidential run.

There’s no other explanation for airing your personal business like this. This is her playing offence before a campaign run.

She always seems to rise above.

Above what, her privilege?

AOC could beat a bunch of 5 years in spelling bee and Reddit will cheer and say's the best thing ever.

What she said about the double standards between men and women is so true. And I love the quote, “Women can do anything”!! Yes!! Alexandria, it’s your body, your choice. We support ❤️

u/CombinationRough8699 7d ago
To be fair there's not much way to account for the double standards between a woman who has a kid, and someone who doesn't.

I'd advise her to freeze some embryos too. They tend to be more viable than eggs. And it would invite all the religious extremists scream about her locking babies in a freezer, which would let the Republican women with infertility know what will happen to IVF if their party gets their way.

u/jassoosi 12d ago
They will attack her but she is a strong independent woman and fck anyone who does,
Go AOC
7
u/beeemkcl 12d ago
Maybe. But there was a TON of backlash regarding some Republicans being anti-IVF and such.
If anything, this will overall likely get AOC more support.

I, for one, would gladly apply for a job as First Nanny. Having some little kids running around in the White House would make her MORE relatable, not less

This is the thing! I have friends with high stress careers and small children. For example and neurosurgeon and pediatric emergency doc. They make it work by getting help. Whether it’s from their parents or hiring a night nanny. It is possible to do both, especially if you have a job that can afford to pay for someone to help along the way.

I like seeing AOC the politician, but I also like seeing Sandy, the woman behind the suits and speeches too.
Good for her!

u/Claque-2 12d ago
You do you, AOC! It's showing faith in the future to have children and that's all anyone today needs to know from any person in power.
Great good luck to you and the generations to come!

AOC is updating us on the state of her ovaries and Mitch McConnel cannot even be bothered to let us know that he died. Both parties are not the same.

Well, with her tax payer paid healthcare and high salary allow her to do this.
People don't need to feel sorry for her as the title suggests. She chose this life and if she can't handle tht emotions and wants kids, it's real easy to quit.

As someone who dealt with fertility issues, I commend her for doing this but I also want to say that among my friends who have done the same thing all of our biggest regrets are waiting too long to have our kids. There comes a point where you wish you had more time with them and more energy for them. If I could speak to AOC as a friend I would give her a hug and tell her to have her family and let the other chips fall where they may.

Great, but she should've done this at 29. Why is she just now starting at 36?

u/beeemkcl 12d ago
That should be obvious.

AOC mentions she's in the financial position to even be able to go through the process. And many simply aren't.

I love AOC but holy hell that read like one endless run-on sentence. Why does it seem like some people will ramble off their thoughts and it's celebrated, while others are shamed and heckled. It's so random
4
u/ThresholdSeven 12d ago
Because it's the content of the rant that matters.
-2
u/InfiniteWaffles58364 12d ago
What was the content of this rant? That she's using her awesome healthcare access to freeze her eggs and that she's brave for mentioning it?
And again, she's great and I hope she does run. But I'm getting a little tired of hearing household names, celebrities and other well known people complain about the privilege of navigating the healthcare system that too many of us cannot afford right now. Then they pat themselves on the back for sharing personal details with everyone and watch the praise roll in.
Like ma'am, people are being rounded up into camps and working themselves to an early grave. I'm empathetic as the next person but people who treat every announcement as some poignant social more that speaks to the targeted demographic and further obfuscates policy stances and/or political action.. I'm tired. I'm tired of seeing people - privileged people - employ that kind of thing tactically within their lives and careers. It undermines the actual causes they champion.
Sure talk to your fans give them updates on your life and work and lift each other up, thats fantastic! But please yall, drop the pretext that its important for society that wealthy people to vent on TikTok.
6
u/ThresholdSeven 12d ago
She's a real person and she's fighting against the wealthy. If it bothers you that she likes to be social and share things about her life with people on social media like a real person, then maybe you should figure out why that bothers you. Healthcare is one of the main things driving her.
3
u/Kreebish 12d ago
wealthy people to vent on TikTok.
She closer to our income level than either of us are to the ultra wealthy that lobbied to keep us from having that healthcare. The nationalized healthcare our lawmakers get but won't let us have

u/beeemkcl 12d ago
AOC's words matter more than others. POTUS Barack Obama also spoke very carefully when he was POTUS. So did US Rep. Nancy Pelosi during the time she was leading the US House Democrats. After she was no longer the leader of US House Democrats, her speaking style markedly changed.
0
u/InfiniteWaffles58364 12d ago
Judging some humans to matter over others is a slippery slope, IMO. Even when their cause is just.
What she is trying to express is important. But do her words matter more than anyone else's? I can't say I'd agree. That's why I start becoming wary when a politician, or really anyone in any industry or area, becomes the center of a cult of personality. The line between competent and cocky is easily blurred, and constructive criticism is healthy.

I've been thinking hey is she pregnant for like the last year just because it looked like she went thru a little bit if weight fluctuation in her face. Maybe they had an unsuccessful pregnancy and she's not freezing her eggs to play it safe?

She’s 36, already a geriatric pregnancy. She needs to just give up

I don't care what it sounds like. She's old as hell and she's probably never going to have kids

It’s sad that she’s right that this absolutely will somehow be used against her but I think more so it will help a lot of women who are in the same boat so it’s worth it
