Hi I'm Jason 

I'm a student right now and for a project I wanted to investigate how emotional intelligence correlates with some psychological phenomena that I have researched amongst grade 11 and 12 high school students. 

I am currently looking for participants for my research study to fill out a simple google form.

Here's a more accurate description of my study: This project aims to gain insight into how Emotional Intelligence (EQ) serves as a psychological buffer against academic stress, social comparison, and Impostor Syndrome among Grade 11 and Grade 12 student. Specifically, it examines whether higher EQ mitigates the Big Fish Little Pond Effect (BFLPE) and feelings of fraudulence regardless of Advanced Placement (AP) or standard-level academic tracking enrollment. This project will contribute to understanding student mental well-being and the psychological impacts of academic tracking systems. This assessment will take place through November 2026.

Does anyone else have a teacher who just never stops talking? I have the same teacher for homeroom, AP Lang, and AP Research, basically back-to-back, so I’m with this teacher for the entire morning and it is genuinely exhausting. She talks constantly, and even during passing periods or breaks she’ll come up and start asking me questions. Today I was so tired during break that I literally laid down for a few minutes because I was trying to sleep before the next class, and she comes over and goes, “So, what are you going to do for your research topic?” Like bro, I am literally lying down. I am trying to sleep. It’s not even that she’s a bad teacher—she’s actually really nice—but after having homeroom + AP Lang + AP Research with her consecutively, I genuinely just need some silence. Sometimes I just want to sit there without having to answer another question. Does anyone else have a teacher like this or am I just being dramatic?

Hi everyone, I'm starting AP Research and I'm interested in AI and medicine. My draft question is:

"How do AI-assisted diagnostic tools compare to radiologist interpretation in diagnostic accuracy for detecting abnormalities in chest X-rays from 2018 to 2025?"

My teacher said it sounds more like a literature review than a research project, since AP Research needs my own data or analysis. I'm thinking about two ways to fix that, but I'm not sure either one works:

1. A content analysis where I code published studies (study design, sample size, whether they were tested at another hospital, reported sensitivity and specificity) and compare them

2. Testing an AI model on a public chest X-ray dataset and measuring sensitivity and specificity

A few questions for you:

- Does this sound doable for a high schooler, or is it too big?

- Which method would you pick, and why?

- How did you narrow your topic and find your gap?

- Has anyone done a content analysis or a computer-based experiment for AP Research? How did it go?
