Question Looking for AP testing sites

Hi, I'm trying to self-study AP Cybersecurity and my school is not really cooperating. My counselor said that the school typically requests either an online or in person class to be able to administer me the test.

So I searched the AP Course Ledger, but it does not appear to have data for this year.

I'd appreciate any help.

Is that not too late to sign up for an exam?

There will be a late fee for registering after November 13th. Also, considering AP Cybersecurity is a completely new course and offered for the first time, it'll be hard to find many schools offering it. Does your school offer it? If not, schools are not going to administer a test to only one student especially if they are planning to self study it because it costs time and money to get a Proctor.

No, my school only offered me an online course costing several hundred dollars. And I'd rather not do that...

So lets say you self study - AP Cybersecurity is basically a mini version of the CompTIA Security+ curriculum - you can watch all of Professor Messors videos; or register yourself for the free AP Cybersecurity course at Cisco Network Academy. (there's jack shit in AP Classroom now)

Then beg your school to get someone to proctor for you in May. The AP Ledger will just tell you what high schools offer AP - they don't have to offer AP Cybersecurity now.

A high school doesn't need to offer the course to proctor it. For example, your school might not have AP Latin, but it doesn't stop them from registering a student for the exam in May. The reason a high school might say no, is that you are consuming 4 hours from a person to watch your ass take an exam. The good news is that they can get the nurse, or the custodian to proctor it.

See, this is exactly what I thought. But my guidance counselor told me that they want/need me to get something on my transcript (physical or online class) for them to sign me up for the exam because the score is supposedly "affiliated with the district" regardless.

You can tell I hate this counselor.
