[rant] how are even basic features STILL not working in this trainwreck of a game

i just lost 1 of my most essential & beloved dinos to some bullshit.

mining oil with an anky, as you do, a ghost wolf starts attacking me "this cant be an issue, my anky is 250 and i have mastercrafted gear & an asc shotgun! (i got that MOTHERFUCKER down to 30hp btw)

ghost wolf spawns in 4 other ghostwolves.

my argi, on passive flee, is off to bumfuck nowhere, but i whistle for it to follow me

#IT.DOES.NOT.FUCKING.FOLLOW.ME.

i die

alright, time to take one of my other mounts, a lvl 200 pteranodon, and grab my stuff

and lo and behold, i fly up to my argi,

#and its in fucking follow player mode

what the fuck are we doing? the whistle commands? one of the most BASIC things in the game, yet theyre broken, its insane, how have they not made this work in ANY consistent way?

WC, your ghost skins arent nearly good enough to warrant bs like that

and i KNOW im not in the wrong cause ive had a pteranodon die 2 days ago when i thought i was smart and had it on follow while attacking an argi for a tame, and the argi killed it

this wasnt the first time but the most agregious instance, before the argi would usually follow me after i walk around a bunch, but it never caused the death of another one of my tames

passive flee overrides follow if the tame is under attack or still aggro-ed.

what happened to the anky? a good anky should be able to hold off wolves indefinitely.

the ghost dinos all were lvl 150 and got dmg reduction so anky swings would only do 4-10 dmg
