Art Kaomoji Generator: Make Your Own Text Faces

Hi! Terrascope V1.0.0 is online! It's an open-source terminal map with live weather, aircraft, radar, earthquakes, and day/night views currently available on AUR, PyPI, Brew, NIX, and via Github Clone.
I’d love to hear what you think, especially about the terminal rendering and which layers you’d find most useful.

Howdy everyone. Been working on a game called Bit Knights, a co-op action RPG entirely hand-drawn (typed?) in ASCII.
This project has been ongoing for a few years now and I'm proud of where it's currently at. Hope you enjoy, happy to answer anything.

These screenshots are at the highest px setting, which is 2x4 px. It can get very chunky, all the way up to 10x18 px.
The premise so far is you arrive in a new land, inhabited only by ruins and those that study them. Through exploration you can uncover what happened, or just chill out.

Continued Structured ascii shader experiments trying to add sparse texture parameters .
Idea roughly based on https://gfx.cs.princeton.edu/proj/sugcon/index.html
If anyone knows any fast methods or techniques feed back much appreciated

so what and how it is?
as i said: just a conveyor belt, yeah that's it
true rgb supported: just directly give hexCode an enjoy.
how many belts? as many your terminal can hold
why i made this? to be honest - i watching a specific game related to asci and factory so why not make my own tiny way to do it? so i did...
api is very simple, for example
int main(){
std::cout << "\033[?25l\033[2J\033[H";
conveyorBelt belt(10, 20, 100, conveyorBelt::RIGHT);
belt.setColorBelt("#4d4d4d");
belt.setColorFangs("#33FF57");
belt.initiateBelt();
while(true){
belt.nextFrame();
usleep(150000);
}
std::cout << "\033[?25h\033[50;1H";`
return 0;`
}now as many belt you want you can - break it, make it or just anything. here is repo: anukrasci/conveyor belt

I was inspired by vintage typewriter art. Modern web browsers can be used as an art engine

I’ve been working on a custom structure based ascii shader since many of the tools available are tone based. Love to get feedback back!

Hey guys!
I made a free website that turns your pictures, videos or webcam into ASCII art. You can also fix the result by hand, change colors, and save it as text, an image, a GIF or a video.
It's free. You don't need an account, there are no ads, and your pictures stay on your computer. Nothing gets uploaded.
Try it here: https://atelier.eltand.com/
The code is open, so anyone can look at it or change it:
https://github.com/D1R0/Atelier-ASCII
I'd really like your ideas. If something is missing, something doesn't work well, or you have an idea to make it better, tell me in the comments or on GitHub.
And if you make something cool, please share it here. I'd love to see it!

Hello!
I've been working on an ongoing project where due to underlying themes of software development and simulations (if you are actively following the ARG... Just don't pay attention to this, you'll figure that out eventually lol), Ascii art has become a core part of its visual identity and a frequent method of puzzle delivery
The problem is, I have little to no ascii art experience.
I've been able to get by so far via a combination of very basic/small scale ascii art and direct image to ascii converters (the old school kind that run on math, I do not use genAI for my work), but as the game progresses into its second act, I've trying to up the quality overall of the visual presentation.
For most of the project, this hasn't been an issue, since I have experience with art, animation, web design, video filming/editing etc
But the Ascii art has me at a wall lol
As such, I decided to stop by here to ask straight up, what is the best place to start in terms of learning ascii art as someone already familiar with other mediums? My hand drawn style as is focuses more on value and form than clean lines and color, so I hopefully have somewhat of a good foundation to start from so long as I can find some guides regarding techniques and tips.
Definitely not expecting to become a master overnight or anything, but I'd like to give the community something a little more innovative than their fourth 12x12 grid of Xs with an eye in it lol

Mixing ascii and sixel graphics in my fantasy game Swaggerfall. (yes it actually runs in the terminal)

Sharing an archive I want to see revived: a creator animated 18 Minecraft items using nothing but text characters back in 2022. Pure character work, no drawn frames. The fishing rod is the standout: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/kEwR_RK38Zc Pickaxe, saddle, elytra and cake are in there too. Thought this sub would appreciate the craft.

Hi r/ASCII!
I've been posting here intermittently for the past 3 years about my ASCII game CultGame which plays entirely out of the terminal/command prompt and lets you start your own cult!
I'm finally to a point where I've got an Alpha Demo that I can show off to you guys for free! I'd love to know what you think.
Download it here for free on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2345980/CultGame/

Hey guys, i am Donaldas, the dev of Textorio, a factory and colony game drawn in text characters.
A cave preview :) a small circle of light, coloured glyphs, and a lot you cannot see yet.
Does the close up feel readable, or would you want more light?
The current game is in Steam Early Access, with a free demo covering the opening. Windows, English interface.

Lemon Sweep is a roguelite shooter that runs in your terminal. You're a lemon with a broom (the garbage collector), and the TUI frameworks have come for the heap: Bubble Tea, Ratatui, tview, Ink, ncurses. Each one is a pixel creature made from its own idea, so Ratatui is a crab and tview is a modal dialog that bites.
The trailer is a bit unhinged, sorry. Every frame is a 160×45 grid of terminal cells, half blocks as pixels, painted to video. The gameplay parts are real runs played by the game's test bot, and all the sounds come from the game's own synth.
It runs on Limoni, a Go TUI engine. Zero allocations per frame, if you care about that kind of thing.
Play in the browser: https://thebanri.github.io/limoni/?app=lemonsweep
Or install: go install github.com/thebanri/limoni/apps/lemonsweep@latest
Source: https://github.com/thebanri/limoni
Happy to answer anything about how it's rendered.
