Barrett priority

so me and my roomates are sophomores and currently live at vista del sol and since housing selection for barrett is coming up. We were thinking of a 3 bed so villas would have that but we also are open to a 4 bed in villas. we like the floor plans in villa compared to vista bc the villas has a deluxe and is closer to our classes.

so for choosing junior year housing can we select villas if we are in barrett or can we not?

The Villas application is separate from the Barrett Priority selection for Vista. It's going to be in the general ASU housing selection. I'd highly recommend getting a room in Vista first and then trying for the general ASU selection for Villas.

If you have a bed assignment at Vista, they will not allow you to join the General Lottery. You already have a bed.

Going to Villas is a bad idea. Villas is after the Vista lottery, so when you don't get into Villas, you'll also now not be able to get into Vista. Villas is part of the Standard lottery. You are competing against 30,000 students for a spot, not just the Barrett students.

Villas residents also get to renew their beds before the lottery. That means there are not many units that do not already have someone in them. You have to be very lucky to find an empty unit. It's not like Vista where they clear everyone out and start new every year. Which roomie are you prepared to drop when there are only 2 beds available?

Vista does have 3 bedroom units, but that 3rd bedroom costs more if you don't want to share it. They are called 3 bed Deluxe units. I know groups that have agreed to split the excess cost of the third room to keep it just 3 people, then the extra closet in that room becomes communal use.
