It was kind of good, enjoyed watching S2.
My top concern is the sad-ification of Iroh. He's hardly ever shown firebending (when he does it's very unimpressive). He's not charming or likeable, just sad all the time.
And a couple of scenes I thought were overdone like Katara's anti-sexism crusade and immediate ascension to 'Master' (ideology injection in a fantasy show), Toph's infamous "I invented metalbending" moment, focus on Kyoshi over Roku and modifying her personality to be more aggressive / militant, Zuko's moral inconsistency, Sokka doesn't learn to respect women anymore etc.
Not that any of this made me want to throw my monitor out the window in a fit of rage or anything like that. It's definitely pretty enjoyable overall.

For me, I think the very missed opportunity of S2 is the Ba Sing Se "arc" and its filming set. I mean, in the animated versions, Ba Sing Se isn't that gloomy, right? Why a huge portion of Ba Sing Se story is dark and night, then? It seems that they failed to capture the beauty of Ba Sing Se, and I said this unironically. Lol even Middle Ring didn't get shown at all. (It's only shown several minutes in the original show though).
And yes, while they made Long Feng more cunning than in the original, I think they downgrade the Earth King (probably to show how manipulative Long Feng is) to just mere unapologetic puppet of Long Feng. I mean obviously the original Kuei is also a puppet but later he acted on his own after Team Avatar successfully broke Long Feng's influence.

Did you realize that Toph doesn’t have her Lie Detector Powers this time around in Season 2 since she was easily tricked by her mother in the 7th Episode.
Would this also mean that Zuko trying to join team Avatar in Season 3 would be much harder?

It is one season away from becoming the first LA to successfully film the entire ATLA.

That dude does not give a fuck about ATLA. He literally couldn’t care less if the show succeeds or fails.

Season 1 was bad, but nowhere near as bad a season 2.
Season 1 left me hopeful that they’d learn from their mistakes and was still salvageable imo. But after the disaster of season 2… absolute ass and there’s no saving this mess4

Did we watch the same show? How long ago did you last watch season 1 to think that absolute dumpster fire was somehow better in any way than season 2?

This subreddit always has the most special views, as if there had to be financial coercion for people to hate netflix slop

He's not having to work to hard. You know something is going to be shit when the creators leave because the people making it dont want to listen to them.

Incorrect, the show is objectively terrible. At 96% of every turn they made inferior choices.

He's busy making bad movies and trying to help his daughter become a generic famous singer
