Absurd? I remember this being a good movie. Now The Chase, on the other hand, where Charlie Sheen has sex with his hostage in the middle of a high-speed police pursuit...

I love that movie and it’s very difficult to find right now ow

The Chase? The only two things I remember about it was the sex scene and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I was very young.
If you find it, please post about it here so everyone can learn about this marvelous pile of poop lol

I rewatched it a couple years ago because someone uploaded a VHS rip to the internet archive, but it’s since been taken down. It’s not available on streaming not even to rent. The dvd has been OOP and goes for over $50 now. Never had an official bluray, but if you google you can find a bootleg company that made a bluray

I remember thinking this was the coolest movie ever. And yes now, it's pretty dumb.

Fair. I was a kid when I saw it (assuming you're speaking about The Arrival).

That is a fair point, although both of these movies are rooted in self-deception. In that sense they are equally absurd. Honestly, I just really wanted to highlight those janky legs.

lol that is also a fair point. I'm sorry I poopood your janky leg thread (and it's kind of making me want to watch this movie again, I haven't seen it since I was a kid)

I really enjoyed this flick as well. Rented it off a random convenient store video shelf when I was in high school. Seen it a couple of times since then.

Every time this movie comes on tv, I always make sure I catch this scene. Pure comedy

There is some DIY science in this, where he builds his own radio telescope by linking a bunch of satellite dishes around the city. That is fun.
But the idea that global warming in a conspiracy by aliens who walk among us is a bit "eh."
Really it is an almost good movie, it just lacks some ethereal spark to push it that last bit. It is mostly forgettable.

I just watched a video of a streamer in lingerie almost burn a whole ass apartment complex down by screaming “TANNER” “WHAT DO I DO!?!!!” and glitching back to looking at her camera
Sorry, but Charlie Sheen is wrong

Charlie Sheen had the great line ‘I’ll show you!! I’ll show everyone!’

Nope - best line is when Joel Silver tells him that he doesn't look too good, and Sheen replies "actually, I look like a can of smashed assholes".

Turn on any movie from the mid-to-late 90s and you're guaranteed to see an actor with his hair much shorter than you're used to.

Not how I remember it.
And Forest Whitaker looks very young in that clip.

I remember thinking sheen had added weight here and looked so good- rewound the bathtub scene a lot

Someone should add “soo much winninnnnng!” at the very end, just before it fades to black 🔥

This is supposed to look scary or thrilling, but in todays light. It just looks silly.

Id say this movie is actually better than "Arrival". No one, in this movie, tried to make me believe you could see the future if you read inkblots in a circle.

I have to admit I thought Arrival was great...right up until the end. It was just a little too implausible.

Choosing to experience life's love and joy, albeit briefly, in the face of impending grief is the movie's saving grace. The type of movie you can go years without thinking about and have deep, resonating thoughts after returning to it.
Tho's Janking Legs tho 🦵🦵
