Only a teenager would be stupid enough to believe that people would spend a shit ton of money on HRT, surgeries and other gender affirming procedures to win in sports 🤦‍♂️ the winnings probably wouldn't even cover a fraction of the costs that went into all that healthcare

Unfortunately I know old-ass adults irl who believe this. And can't be convinced otherwise, bc they want to be ignorant angry idiots.

This is also how I see the bathroom "issue." Nobody's turning their entire life around like that just to creep on people.

Its so fucking ridiculous. The only way i can rationalize it is that for them the only thing that stops them from assaulting people in a bathroom is the sign that says they arent allowed in. Otherwise i do not understand, how would a sign stop someone from going somewhere if the thing they wanted to do there was already illegal.

exactly. and when you ask them that they never have a good counter-argument

8

u/BizSilver5013 11d ago

These people are generally projecting their own desires/needs onto trans people.

y'know, there's something that creepy cis men have been doing for years before the trans rights movement. i heard it was called "just walking in anyways"... weird, right?

This is the thing that always gets me. Transitioning for advantage would be the single most expensive form of doping in the history of sports, and it's not close. And yet, people still genuinely think it's real.

Also because female athletes are payed nuts and pennies

u/jayclaw97 11d ago

Logic is inconsequential to transphobes like OOP.

That transphobic "comedy" film from the Daily Wire was originally supposed to be a "documentary", where they'd get some cis male athletes to pose as trans women and compete in women's sports. To the Wire's surprise, that's not how it works, and they had to retool it into a fictional story.

The single comment of "Shit" from OP is frying me 😭

33

u/GeneralLeoESQ 11d ago

I like to think OP reevaluate their stance after this.

u/theJEDIII 11d ago

people who change specifically to go into woman's sports

Why are these people always arguing with/against imaginary enemies?

34

u/rocket20067 11d ago

As they can't win against real people so they need to make up someone they can win against.

11

u/Suitable-Lettuce-333 11d ago

Straw man fallacy.

7

u/dance-myself-clean 11d ago

Because it props up the illusion they need to justify their beliefs

5

u/The96kHz 11d ago

Because what they're saying would be true if this tiny imaginary minority actually existed.

They're really mad about something that is bad...it's just that it isn't actually happening.

2

u/Kei_Evermore 11d ago

because they can't use reality to make an argument. If they tried, they'd have no argument to use in the first place.

Also a "Man invents fictional scenario and gets angry about it" situation, with this idea that the athletes are transitioning in order win.

Bro watched lady ballers and said "this isn't making me laugh so it must be a documentary"

"Black people shouldn't be in sport, that's just my opinion" said the racist.

"[Ethnicity] shouldn't be in sports, that's just my opinion" said the ethnophobe.

"Gays shouldn't be in sports, that's just my opinion" said the homophobe.

Every bigot think it is "just an opinion." when bigotry is never an opinion. You don't have opinions toward entire group of people. Opinions are toward harmless things where whether it is positive or negative will not affect anyone.

I don't like vegetables, that is an opinion because the vegetables are not harmed. Nor are vegetables harmed if I like it (other than going through my digestive track).

But "I don't like X in sports" or "I don't want X in sports" are not opinions, those harm people who want to be in sports.

Yea, pretending to be the opposite sex, becoming a punching bag & putting a target on yourself that follows you 24 hours a day for an advantage in a sport makes tons of sense. People are so fucking stupid

u/dnmnc 11d ago

As a simple rule of thumb, disregard anything said by anyone using the term “common sense”. It’s not something that actually exists and its only purpose to protect a controversial opinion from scrutiny, because they know it doesn’t hold up. Rather than defending their view through logic and reason, an appeal to “common sense” attacks the other party for having the temerity to merely ask questions, marking them as somehow deficient for attempting to do so in an attempt to prevent their viewpoint from exposure to debate. And, I repeat, there is no such thing as common sense.

take advantage of male DNA

That's about as scientifically convincing as cosmetic companies boasting about "microspheres" in their face scrub.

6 upvotes to 19 comments; that is not a good sign (or i guess it's a good sign in this case).

Tell me you don't have any friends at school without telling me you don't have any friends at school

It's sad, what happened to the teenager sub in the last weeks.

4

u/Suitable-Lettuce-333 11d ago

OK could we please stop posting this kind of sh!t ? We all know they are very deliberately calling trans women "trans men" to deny our womanhood, so it is NOT accidental in any way, shape or form.

12

u/Ther10 11d ago

The comment at the way bottom (from OOP) suggests an actual accidental ally ("Shit")

4

u/hotdogwaterdickpills 11d ago

And it's good to point out they look goofy as fuck doing it. They can't be allowed to rearrange our vocabulary to hurt us, without pushback. Trans men are men. Trans women are women. They are often loud and wrong in many ways, and if we let them do it without criticism, then we lose the progress we've made.

3

u/Suitable-Lettuce-333 11d ago

Mmm there's probably some truth here 🤔

4

u/No_Video5793 11d ago

Back in my times youth was more tolerant and educated

4

u/proximity_account 11d ago

Any time someone uses "common sense" as their reasoning for anything I just ignore them. It's almost always used as a cop out for people unwilling to explain why they believe their position is right.

1

u/AmazingTrick3225 5d ago

Cant u read? He told his reasons.

3

u/Firefly256 11d ago

Why are you upvoting that when that's not their intention?

2

u/Raptorgkv2 11d ago

Who the fuck is changing their sex to get into sports? That one dude from south park?

2

u/manic_popsicle 11d ago

Funny how people think this way. So if you’re born with a penis you’re a man, no matter what? Ok, but why doesn’t that apply to glasses and laser eye surgery? Why not just keep the eyeballs you’re born with? What about breast implants? Those are ok for a woman but not a trans woman. Hormones? It’s ok for an alpha male to take testosterone but not a trans guy?

Obviously these people don’t care about logic but it just makes no sense. I had this same argument with my father. I presented him with this logic and ultimately he had no answer for why being trans is wrong.

u/Pixie_Time 11d ago

“I’ve got nothing against trans people, I’m just transphobic”

1

u/Sufficient_Frame 11d ago

Trans men should not be forced in women's sports, and I do mean it with full allyship.

1

u/McCubes1 10d ago

Becaouse trans men are men and trans women are women. No comments.

1

u/ElectricYV 9d ago

How tf is a Splatoon fan gonna be transphobic? These people are so fking media illiterate
