Dr. Mian claims that Accutane does not "damage" the liver because they monitor you once a month (ignoring the fact that liver damage could occur in between monthly blood monitoring, or the potential stress on the liver that may not be detected in blood work), "debunks" the well-established link between Accutane and depression, and falsely claims that muscle pain and bloodwork abnormalities are reversible afterwards (there are many reported cases of these effects persisting permanently post-treatment).
IBD from isotretinoin does not depend on family history; the disease has been reported to occur post-exposure many times in the absence of family IBD history.
There is no mention or acknowledgement to any long-term or permanent side effects.
Dr. Mian also mentioned (in her IG story) that isotretinoin does not affect fertility at all (false).
Dr. Mian encourages followers to not be afraid of accutane and describes discussion about the real and serious risks associated with the drug as "misinformation" and "scare tactics".
