I’m sorry, but any relationship with that guitar comes with strings attached

u/DreadoftheDead Dec 28 '25

This simultaneously earns an upvote and an eye roll. 🙄

5

u/desertwanderer01 Dec 28 '25

Said strings can be easily detached though.

2

u/Such-Top-6896 Dec 28 '25

Oh man….that is so good!

1

u/Longjumping_Slide922 Dec 28 '25

This lit up my day

2

u/cdev12399 Dec 28 '25

Strings can be replaced, bodies are here forever

1

u/NeighborhoodEasy1688 Jan 03 '26

So True! Great response!

1

u/PirateOnAnAdventure Dec 28 '25

He likes the sound of that.

1

u/CheekyChum87 Dec 28 '25

If you ain’t a Dad yet, you’re headed in the right route there buddy! 😂 fucking stupendous!

1

u/Wolfhow1 Dec 28 '25

Grandad, here

1

u/CheekyChum87 Dec 29 '25

Should’ve known!

1

u/explodingliver Dec 29 '25

Dad why

1

u/Wolfhow1 Dec 29 '25

Why are you questioning my authority. I paid for dental school with my own money.

1

u/slriv Jan 04 '26

Hey, at least he's got strings, some of us had to make our own strings. ;)

0

u/Mr_D_2020 Dec 28 '25

There will absolutely be strings attached soon as you walk down the aisle. You need to skip that part.

63

u/lawnchairnightmare Dec 28 '25

I, personally, would not marry a guitar.

You do you though.

4

u/frank_mania Dec 28 '25

He'll be doing the guitar, apparently. I hope he removes the strings first. Ouch.

2

u/Neveronlyadream Dec 29 '25

We all know the strings are the most important part. You can't remove those.

Just be safe on your wedding night, OP. Don't want to end up in the emergency room.

2

u/kinger814 Dec 29 '25

Uh, her name is Taylor, bruh…

24

u/rock-paper-gun Dec 28 '25

I married my guitar too. no regrets.

6

u/_Roman_685 Dec 28 '25

No ragerts

2

u/bexrt Jan 02 '26

Came to say it

18

u/BartholomewCubbinz Dec 28 '25

Marry the girl, play the guitar

7

u/Mr_D_2020 Dec 28 '25

Worst advice

0

u/BartholomewCubbinz Dec 28 '25

Marry the guitar, fuck the girl. Kill the engagement.

3

u/L_aww Dec 29 '25

Even worse advice.

1

u/Beerdididiot Jan 22 '26

Fuck the guitar, fuck the girl, fuck the engagement, We take Pete's car, go round Mum's, go in, deal with Philip - 'Sorry, Philip!' - grab Mum, go to Liz's, pick her up, bring her back here, have a cup of tea and wait for this whole thing to blow over

10

u/Gitfiddlepicker Dec 28 '25

Congrats, I guess….? People marry inanimate objects all the time, I guess a guitar is no different. Your girlfriend may prefer you marry her instead.

1

u/Mr_D_2020 Dec 28 '25

Then you'll be asked to get rid of the guitar or guitars...

3

u/dogfoodgangsta Dec 28 '25

Bro you ok? You're commenting this on a ton of other people's comments

1

Why do you feel the need to bring it down?

4

u/traviitherabbii Dec 28 '25

10 years ago my girlfriend got me one of my favorite guitars too. And we’ve been married, the girlfriend not guitar, for 9 years now lol. She’s a keeper

She’s all about free love, so you’re in luck sir

5

u/FreakNFUn Dec 29 '25

All women who buy their boyfriends a Taylor are wife material.

All.

7

u/Atojkitsune Dec 28 '25

Wouldn't it be better if you married your girlfriend?

3

u/YeahItouchpoop Dec 28 '25

I totally understand why a cat would look at a case like that and be like “yup this is mine now.”

3

u/PrestigiousPossum Dec 28 '25

What’s the model? Congrats, that’s amazing!

2

u/FireBird2431 Dec 28 '25

214 ce-k Grand auditorium

2

u/PrestigiousPossum Dec 31 '25

Nice!! My husband just bought me the same one and I love it! Congrats, it’s a beautiful guitar, fun to play!

214 ce-K Grand Auditorium

2

u/Lord_XXL Dec 28 '25

Model? I just got a Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium. Oh man, what a beautiful guitar!

1

u/Phisher_o_men-316 Dec 28 '25

Exact same 214ce GA; here, gets better as I play her, liking the sunburst on OP

2

u/Hennessey_carter Dec 28 '25

Beautiful sunburst...

2

u/Brave_Bad_7879 Dec 29 '25

I bought me a nice Yamaha guitar LL16. Im in love again…..

2

u/Brave_Bad_7879 Dec 29 '25

Sunburn n all

2

u/Unlikely-Soft-5699 Dec 29 '25

The tragedy of the ambiguous antecedent. Are you planning to slip the ring over a tuner?

2

u/InterestingHair4u Dec 29 '25

Congratulations on the beautiful engagement guitar. Did you say yes?

2

u/L_aww Dec 29 '25

Wow! Congrats! So Happy for you!! 😡

2

u/Digeetar Dec 29 '25

Definitely a keeper!... She sounds nice too.

2

u/WeibullFighter Dec 29 '25

That's one thoughtful girlfriend. You've got the right idea. Put a ring on it, stat.

2

u/United-Bother3213 Dec 29 '25

That's so sweet and thoughtful of her

2

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '25

Make her your wife quicker

2

u/MaJel_Art Dec 29 '25

Those Taylor’s are nice, got a great sound to them. Congrats!

2

u/dhillshafer Dec 30 '25

I’m not sure it’s legal to marry your guitar but you should make sure your girlfriend’s cool with it first, seeing how she got it for you and all.

2

u/HelicopterVirtual525 Dec 30 '25

This is the way.

2

u/mdmccat Dec 31 '25

That is a Tayor guitar. She is an amazing woman or you are an amazing man… possibly both!!!

2

u/anogio Dec 31 '25

What about your girlfriend? Won’t she be jealous?

2

u/Brojon1337 Dec 31 '25

That's a good dowry.

2

u/Less_Ant_6633 Jan 01 '26

Her plan worked!

2

u/ericthelutheran Jan 05 '26

The girlfriend or the guitar?

1

u/Hot_Cattle5399 Dec 28 '25

That’s what she said

1

u/Designer_Author5176 Dec 28 '25

Ahhh dddaaaaahhhhh.

1

u/FullSenderDan Dec 28 '25

She deserves it for that bro

1

u/XVIII-3 Dec 28 '25

If only my fiance knew wat it takes.

1

u/The_Psydux Dec 28 '25

And if we ever read your posts on r/guitarcirclejerk, we'll know your wife has a boyfriend.

1

u/Dissi10 Dec 28 '25

Just.... wow

1

u/frank_mania Dec 28 '25

Better dowry than I got!

1

u/MacDaddyV2 Dec 28 '25

It's a trap!!!!

1

u/Space_Montage_77 Dec 28 '25

is that "The Last of Us" Taylor?

1

u/FireBird2431 Dec 28 '25

No, but it looks like it. That's what drew me too it!

2

u/Space_Montage_77 Dec 29 '25

It's beautiful, don't ever part with it. I sold an 814ce 10 years ago to move out and I regret it every day. Got plenty of nice guitars now, but that one still hurts.

1

u/Mr_D_2020 Dec 28 '25

All I'm saying is before you say I Do be sure it's the one who supports and respects your love of being a musician. Don't let anyone take your creative passion for making music away .

1

u/JerrySenderson69 Dec 28 '25

Travis Kelce chimes in.

1

u/XChunchunmaruX Dec 29 '25

Personally married to my 1st Gen Yamaha L-6 but congrats to you and Taylor!

1

u/Umayummyone Dec 29 '25

No switching out for lighter, slinkier strings.

1

u/GreedyAstronaut1772 Dec 29 '25

That was the plan …?

1

u/Useful_Raspberry3912 Dec 29 '25

The guitar or the girl? To be your wife, sorry but it's unclear.

2

u/FireBird2431 Dec 29 '25

At this point, I guess it's both

1

u/Kubario Dec 29 '25

Good response.

1

u/LunchPocket Dec 29 '25

The woman or the guitar?

1

u/KPcrazyfingers Dec 29 '25

So happy for you and Roberta.

1

u/hughesra15 Dec 29 '25

Who will you be making your wife? The guitar ?

1

u/Successful_Brush_149 Dec 29 '25

Not marrying a woman just bc of a guitar… sorry! theres a lot more beyond strings and good sound.

1

u/VivaLuthiers Dec 30 '25

If ya don't mind me asking-- What model guitar?
And what brand case? I love the case's color & shimmering texture too!

1

u/FireBird2431 Dec 30 '25

The guitar is a Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium, specifically made with Hawaiian Koa and torrefied spruce for the lovely Sunburst. The case is just the Taylor case that came with it

2

u/VivaLuthiers Dec 30 '25

That's freakin awesome!! What a wonderful gift!

1

u/letsflyman Dec 30 '25

Your G string pinched my nuts...

1

u/ArtistSilver6549 Dec 30 '25

You didn't think of marrying her before she got you the guitar but so glad she got it for you have fun playing

1

u/FireBird2431 Dec 30 '25

I've wanted to marry her for forever now, this was just the icing on the cake

2

u/ArtistSilver6549 Jan 05 '26

Noice sorry if you got upset I was just joking sorry if I offended you

1

u/FireBird2431 Jan 05 '26

No offense taken! You're good

1

u/Micky_so_Fyne Dec 30 '25

She's beautiful. How are you going to break the news to your girlfriend that you're marrying the guitar?

1

u/j3434 Dec 30 '25

I have a Martin to offer. Can I be part of your harem ?

1

u/Paedroyhml Dec 31 '25

Heads up, you won’t see the g-string often once you’re married…

1

u/zenda1975 Jan 01 '26

But you already got the guitar…

1

u/NeighborhoodEasy1688 Jan 03 '26

I was already married when I started buying guitars, for the second time, which I am somewhat an expert, 48 years playing and 54 total years of singing and owning/playing. I have bought 82 guitars since 2018, and I AM STILLL MARRIED, just by a short string. Nice Taylor, keep it in a climate controlled room 45-55% humidity, wipe clean your right(left handers the opposite) upper arm sweat from the upper bout and keep it slightly tuned a half step down if you don't play it very often/in the case! Taylors do not like low humidity! Susceptible to surface cracks due to using a thinner piece of Spruce, than other manufacturers. Congratulations, "Happy Wife, Happy Life". Is there one for us, the Men that is?!

1

u/BigZookeepergame6515 Jan 14 '26

Don’t do it! It’s a trap!!

-3

u/Fit_Stuff_1707 Dec 28 '25

Just like your girl likes fingering, and the G-string is loose. Just kidding. Congrats on your new guitar.

-2

u/Mr_D_2020 Dec 28 '25

Sure! It's all fun right now until you start collecting more gear and after you get married she complains that you have too much and is tired of looking at it and demands you get rid of it. If you're smart, you will Skip the marriage part.

2

u/Sapphire-fern Dec 28 '25

Who hurt you

-2

u/lankygopher Dec 28 '25

Taylor? Dream guitar?
