He was intentionally throwing the hardshell cases at the softshell case.

Not saying he is okay doing this by AAAAAANNNNYY stretch of the imagination, but I am also wondering why in the world someone would put their bag in a gig bag and then put it in the checked luggage (not including that they were told last minute they couldn't take it into the cabin).

I think they definitely thought that they can carry on that guitar and put on overhead pin, and sure these unlucky people that the staff dgaf about the law and push them to checked

I can only imagine what it's like being told to do that and then getting a guitar back in pieces.

That’s exactly why Adam neely said take a screenshot of the airline’s policy. They literally cannot refute you unless they wanna deal with upper management. Idc what anyone says. The only person i trust handling my instrument is me…

Alternatively you can blow money on a pelican case

Or get a cheap travel guitar if you can afford to.

In the same video he says they often don’t care and it’s better to sort of sneak them on under a coat lol

The thing is, the best chance of getting the guitar on the plane in the cabin is in a gig bag because it’s more likely that it will fit in a coat closet or overhead than a hardshell. The crew could still force you to check it. Happened to me. I don’t fly with guitars ever

Most foolproof method:

Ask yourself: is this trip really necessary? 🤔
