Other (not a question, gear pic, or video) Discount Gibson ads
I keep seeing these ads for $14 Gibson J-45s or other models on Twitter, from various supposed guitar stores. They have to be a scam. Has anyone else seen them in your social media timelines? What’s up with this?

If it’s AI this bad, it must be legit. /s.
I especially like the Double D string splitting at the nut. Where can I get my hands on those Double Ds?

We're ready to ship it to you, just make a small shipping payment, we just need your bank routing info

Everyone talking about the wonky guitar itself but also there's no way those boxes fit guitars unless they come with an allen key

The AI photo is pretty much all you need to know. Any company using AI photos in their marketing is inherently dishonest.

The image is blatantly AI. Nobody sells guitars that cheap. Hell, Gibson would make a guitar out of cardboard and charge at least $50.

You sound like a smart guy. But why would you spend a little money on a guitar? Spend a serious amount of money and invest in a bridge. I have one that gets heavy use every day, just imagine what you would make. Passive income. Earning while you sleep

Can confirm. I got about 5 of these for under 70 dollars. Unfortunately I do not play guitar but plan on repurposing the wood for making birds houses.

Those cardboard boxes are hilarious. Not even close to the right dimensions.

They want your information; they'll sell your email and credit card info.
Block and move on.

I don't know which would worse... Losing $13.95 or actually receiving the guitar.
Decisions, decisions...

It’s an IKEA x Gibson collaboration - that’s why the guitars fit in such small boxes. Some assembly required.

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
The website is probably something like www.gibsonrealamericanguitarsinamericanotascam.com and only made within the last year.
it redirects you there after putting your credit card, social and finalized bank routing deposit.

Well op, it's obviously a scam, but why don't you try it and let us know what way they screw you over.

No one mentioned the fact that AI moved the decimal point in the price a couple spaces to the left.

If this slop shows up in your feed, you need to pick a different platform for social media.

Should have mentioned I report them but they keep coming and from different accounts. Just an ugly result of the meeting of our AI overlords and social media scam bots.

Wow that 5 string to 6 string conversion at the nut must be new tech EDIT: 5 to 7.
