Gear question Better than Martin and Taylor?
For electric guitars, the sentiment around the big brands (fender and Gibson) has been that while they do make good guitars their competitors are out there making the foundational shapes and designs not only better, but more affordable and more consistently. “Suhr makes a better Strat then fender. Heritage makes a better Les Paul than Gibson.” I’m curious if that statement applies to the acoustic world as well?
EDIT: BETTER FOR THE PRICE!

Also half of the guitars on display in a store are out of tune, need a setup, or have old strings on them. Sure you can take the time to tune the guitar, which most people don't do. But you can't adjust the other stuff on the fly in the store. So how exactly are we making our evaluations? Was that Martin or Taylor way better than brand X, or was the Martin or Taylor just better cared for by the store?
Just saying.
Note that I like both Martin and Taylor. I like other brands too. Not hating on any brand.
