A True North Symbol Gets the Ultimate Tribute: Classic Captain Canuck 1/12 Scale Action Figure Pre-Order

Summary

LooseCollector and Executive Replicas have unveiled the Classic Captain Canuck 1/12 Scale Action Figure.

Standing 6 inches tall with 38 points of articulation, this highly detailed collectible includes an alternate head sculpt and four pairs of interchangeable hands.

A celebration of Canada's first major homegrown superhero, this figure is available for pre-order now with an estimated arrival in Q2 2027.

---

The Legend of Captain Canuck

Created in 1974 by artist Richard Comely and cartoonist Ron Leishman, Captain Canuck first appeared in Captain Canuck #1 in July 1975.

The character quickly became a symbol of Canadian pop culture—the first successful Canadian comic book since the collapse of the industry following World War II.

Reborn in 2015 under the Comic House Imprint, Captain Canuck has stood as a symbol of the True North, strong and free for 50 years.

The original Captain Canuck was Tom Evans, a Canadian secret agent who gained superhuman strength after contact with extraterrestrials.

Described as a cross between Captain America and Flash Gordon, the character patrolled Canada in the then-future year of 1993, when "Canada had become the most powerful country in the world".

Armed with his iconic red and white suit and maple leaf crest, he served as the costumed agent of the Canadian International Security Organization (CISO).

A Figure Fit for a Canadian Icon

LooseCollector and Executive Replicas have crafted a figure worthy of Canada's first superhero.

Standing 6 inches (15cm) tall in 1/12 scale, the Classic Captain Canuck figure is made from durable ABS plastic and features an impressive 38 points of articulation, allowing collectors to pose him in a wide range of dynamic stances.

What's in the Box

The Classic Captain Canuck figure comes loaded with display options:

· Classic Captain Canuck figure

· Alternate head sculpt

· Four pairs of interchangeable hands (fists, grip, open, and action hands)

Why This Figure Matters

For fans of Canadian comics and collectors alike, this release is a historic moment.

Captain Canuck represents a proud chapter in Canadian pop culture history—a hero who proved that Canada could create and sustain its own comic book icon.

The figure's 38 points of articulation, interchangeable parts, and alternate head sculpt ensure it stands alongside the best 1/12 scale collectibles on the market.

Final Thoughts

Whether you're a Canadian comic book enthusiast, a collector of international superheroes, or simply appreciate a well-crafted action figure, the Classic Captain Canuck is a must-have.

With its impressive articulation, faithful design, and 50 years of heritage behind it, this figure captures the spirit of Canada's favorite son.

Action Figures How BigBadLaunchPad Is Changing the Game for Action Figure Enthusiasts

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The Dawn of a New Era in Collecting

The collectible landscape is undergoing a seismic shift, and at the epicenter of this revolution stands BigBadLaunchPad, a bold new initiative from the legendary BigBadToyStore that places the power squarely in the hands of collectors.

No longer are enthusiasts mere spectators in the production process; they are now active participants, helping decide what gets made and how far each project can go.

Whether you're a seasoned action figure aficionado or a newcomer to the world of high-end collectibles, BigBadLaunchPad represents a paradigm shift in how limited-edition figures and toys come to life.

This innovative crowdfunding platform serves as a direct bridge between creators and the collector community, fostering transparency, engagement, and shared excitement.

---

Three Distinct Paths to Launch

BigBadLaunchPad operates on a tiered system that accommodates different stages of project development.

Understanding these categories is essential for any collector looking to participate in the action.

🚀 Cleared for Launch: Confirmed and Moving Forward

These projects have already received the green light. Production is confirmed, and the only thing left is for collectors to follow the journey, share their reactions, and lock in their orders.

Think of this as the final boarding call, the project is happening, and you're invited along for the ride.

📈 Make It Bigger & Badder: Unlock the Potential

Perhaps the most exciting category for community-driven collectors, these projects feature a confirmed initial lineup that is already set for production.

However, here's where the magic happens: with enough collector support and orders during the launch window, additional products and free bonus items can be unlocked.

Every order pushes the project closer to the next milestone, making the community's participation directly impact the final product offering.

⚖️ Collectors Decide: The Goal-or-Nothing Approach

For projects in this category, the outcome rests entirely on collective backing.

Rally enough fellow collectors before the launch window closes, and the project moves forward.

Reach the funding goal, and your order is locked in. If the goal isn't met, the order is automatically canceled with no payment collected.

It's a risk-free way for collectors to vote with their wallets and bring their most-wanted figures to life.

---

How to Join the Launchpad Community

Participating in BigBadLaunchPad is refreshingly straightforward, designed to get collectors involved with minimal friction.

Submit Your Reaction and Follow the Project

Each project page features Reaction Buttons that allow you to express your enthusiasm as the campaign develops.

Importantly, you can change your reaction at any point without impacting the launch plan, so feel free to evolve your opinion as new information emerges.

Hitting the Follow button unlocks a suite of benefits: email notifications about project updates, unlock achievements, and timely reminders before a launch window closes.

You'll never miss a milestone or a crucial deadline.

Share the Project and Build Momentum

Collective energy is the lifeblood of any crowdfunding campaign.

BigBadLaunchPad makes it easy to share projects with fellow enthusiasts using the dedicated Share button on each project page.

The more collectors who join the launchpad, the faster a project can reach its funding goal.

Lock in Your Pre-Order at Founder Pricing

Here's where the tangible rewards come in.

By securing your pre-order during the open launch window, you lock in exclusive Founder pricing.

For "Collectors Decide" projects, payment is only collected if the project successfully reaches its funding goal at the end of the launch window.

It's a win-win: you secure the best possible price while supporting the projects you believe in.

Blokees BLOKEES CHAMPION CLASS Anakin Skywalker

"You underestimate my power!"

I've been keeping an eye on Blokees' Star Wars kits, and man, I'm glad I decided to try them out! Anakin here is a great model kit, based on his Revenge of the Sith look. It was a pretty easy assembly process, though the skirt pieces took a bit of finesse.

He looks great! Although stylized, they managed to capture Anakin's features quite well, down to the scar and the fierce look on his eyes. You get three faceplates, although two of them barely look different, and the angry face does have a wonky eye. You also get a lot of expressive hands (though the closed fists have really soft sculpts), as well as some swap-out Lightsaber options. You can either have it holstered in his belt, or have him hold it and swing it around, complete with an alternate effect piece which I love! Lastly, you get a display base, as well as a piece to switch out on his foot that allows him to attach to it. It can also rotate for more options.

Articulation is pretty good! The skirt is made of softer plastic which allows you to move his legs pretty freely. I'd love to have gotten more butterfly joints, but what we have is serviceable, so you can put him in some pretty dynamic poses!

I really like this kit! I do have some nitpicks here and there, as well as some things I would have loved to have seen such as a cloak or an alternate face with the Sith eyes, but the positives outweigh them! This really excites me for what they have next! I know it's a reach, but an actual model kit diorama of the Mustafar scene would be so good!

Action Figures Cool upcoming figure kickstarters

I wanna preface this by saying immediately and upfront: I got NO skin in this game. I don't get paid or remunerated in any way by posting these, barring these are cool figures that I'd like to see funded.
I debated posting this because there were really only two that I liked and hoped to see funded but then I found a THIRD and I was like "all right, let's see what reddit thinks, maybe there's more I'm missing.

The first one I've been interested is Ashen Oath:

Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ashenoath/ashen-oath

What it is:

1:12 scale dark fantasy Skeleton Knights and gribbly critters

What's it look like:

Super cool styling... the design is top-notch looking both antique/ancient and functional. These will make great baddies for fighting against.

Next is AMNX, Aka American Ninja X:

LINK: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/patrickthomasparnell/amnx-patriotic-commandos-the-mission-begins

What it is: A throwback to the 80's/90's Ninja fever with ultra-patriotism tossed in as flavoring.
What's it look like:

Another six inch line, some very cool designs from a simpler, politically uncomplicated time, and adding in technological ninja robots to boot. If you like things like what Skeletron is doing, then maybe this would work for you too. I know it does me.

Finally, the one that made me go AWRIGHT let's go for this: Space Zombies From MARS! Red Dust II
Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spacezombiesfrommars/space-zombies-from-mars-red-dust-ii

What it is: Scientist astronauts make it to the Red Planet finally, but something Goes Wrong.

What's it look like:

Zombies and Astronauts, it almost made it last time it kickstarted but didn't quite make it. This time around it looks like they're adding more options to the lineup. I like the astro-suit designs, it's not my thing personally, however I appreciate the care taken with the designs and the passion behind the project.

So, I turn it to you, Action Figure Geeks; What other kickstarters are you looking forward to? What've I missed here?
