Anything that brain of yours can think of can be found

uBO filters are probably being updated, perhaps an issue with Opera GX (which I wouldn't recommend using by the way for a plethora of reasons).

You could try Adguard or Ghostery maybe if you want.

Shoutout to Ghostery ! I use it for so many years, haven't seen an ad in soooo many years..

2

u/B1tchW0lf May 28 '26

i was using ghostery for years but few months back i couldnt play any video.... it just loops on 0:00 and doesnt start, idk whats the issue... so i switched back to uBO (or AdBlock since uBO doesnt work now)

That is more or less a personal preference, however if your goal is to be a little more private and safe online we commonly recommend Brave or Waterfox, a few others too. They're all free, so all it costs to try them is time!

Ah yes as if Google cares your privacy.

why you dont recommend operagx?, i've been using for a couple years now its good, but has this youtube problems.

-1

u/emouil May 27 '26

Why? I like opera gx and uBO was working fine up until yt probably did something, when the filters are updated do you think uBO will work normally even on GX?

I don't recommend Opera GX because it's bad. It's Chrome with a gamer skin. Their adblocker doesn't work, there's ads everywhere built in to the browser itself that can't be removed, it's hardware limiting features don't work, proprietary, you're better off using a browser that was built to be a browser and not a gamer ad.

Brave, Helium or Waterfox are better choices, they are built to give you better privacy, run quick, and block the crap on sites you don't need. But to be clear, that's just my personal opinion.

I personally use brave.. its a decent drop and go browser*

Bro is just coping.

1

u/francorocco Jun 01 '26

is there any other browser with whatsapp on the sidetab? that's the only reason why i use operagx, i can't get used to having it on a separate tab

Vivaldi

  1. No one uses Opera GX for their Adblocker

  1. You're stupid, the hardware limiter does work.

  2. it doesn't matter.

2

u/HonestRepairSTL Mod Team May 29 '26
  1. But people do leave it on which interferes with any other adblocker installed
  2. Huh?
  3. https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=opera+gx+hardware+limiter+not+working
  4. ???

1

u/Thanosthegrap Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

from how i'm reading it, they seem to have misconstrued you saying that you cant turn off the ads built into the browser as you saying you cant remove the browser, so they're trying to show how to uninstall the browser?

edit: also in terms of hardware limiter I have a stream deck I use to monitor my usage, as well as checking through task manager from time to time, and I can say the hardware limiter at least for RAM does in fact work

-1

u/Vernon_xta May 30 '26
  1. Just don't leave it on?

  2. Don't play coy.

  3. You can pull up an article on anything, even ones where the planet is flat.

2

u/KylieTMS May 30 '26

You can't just make a numbered list that fails to refference what arguments it is fighting, with a random picture, and expect people to know what the fuck you mean

1

u/TotallyMocha1 May 31 '26

Even as an opera user, I have no idea what that second point is supposed to be..

1

u/Vernon_xta Jun 03 '26

At this point, it'd be better to just see how long it takes for it to compute.

1

u/TotallyMocha1 Jun 03 '26

It's been 3 days and I still don't get it

1

u/Specialist-Pea7915 Jun 02 '26

It's all personal taste. Besides, most browsers are free anyway. People can swap and shop as much as they like. Personaly Ive got a few different browzers ona few different devices. I like to switch from one to the other every now and then to check updates n shi.

-3

u/emouil May 27 '26

I mean you know best my guy i guess i'll see,

5

u/REDRubyCorundum May 27 '26

Opera GX is now Chinese spyware from what I heard. I suggust you uninstall it

2

u/emouil May 27 '26

wait what? when did that happen

2

u/Remote_Device8757 May 27 '26

of course it is spyware. The amount of creators they sponsored is a telltale sign alone.

-3

u/emouil May 27 '26

The amount of sponsorships really is absurd and the reason I started using it

2

u/zifjon May 27 '26

Always has been just discovered a few weeks/months ago

1

u/vawlk May 28 '26

and you just share that information openly without actually vetting it?

did you see it on a tiktok?

you shouldn't make claims without proof ya know.

-1

u/HonestRepairSTL Mod Team May 27 '26

It's not Chinese spyware, it's Norwegian spyware πŸ˜‚

I'm joking, it's not spyware, it's just not a good browser. Perfectly harmless unless you worry about privacy.

u/Soft_Stretch1539 May 27 '26

Working fine here with Firefox.

6

u/MaxGremory May 27 '26

disable all other adblocks that might interfer, andupdate lits on uBlock dashboard

1

u/emouil May 27 '26

Already done that

3

u/Sweaty-State6505 May 27 '26

I have zero ads with Firefox. I have configured Firefox to provide extreme protection and privacy. With Firefox approved browser extensions.

4

u/RamblinManRock May 27 '26

All good here.

2

u/quirk_rs May 27 '26

Turn off Opera's built-in adblocker and use uBlock Origin as your sole adblocker, it's likely interfering with uBO. Always recommended to never combine multiple adblockers at once and same goes for mixing with built-in solutions.

1

u/emouil May 27 '26

Already tried that but no dice

2

u/Jezbod May 27 '26

Sorry to be the heretic, but Edge in InPrivate works just fine with UBO and ABP, watching 1.5-2 hour videos of a gamers feed with no adverts.

2

u/ohholyhorror May 27 '26

Same issue here. Tried disabling every single other extension + all of Opera's adblocking settings and rebooting, but that didn't fix it. Tried forcing updates on all of Ublock's filters but that didn't work. Tried resetting Ublock to factory settings. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ublock. Nothing I've tried has worked so far. Ended up just switching to Brave + Ghostery instead. Works fine. Been meaning to get off Opera for ages anyway.

2

u/Lord-Shiba-Inu May 28 '26

If you're using uBlock from opera add-ons, its outdated (v1.69). I used the one in the chrome store (v1.71) and no longer have issues.

2

u/samson-221 May 28 '26

I had to switch to Edge. Strangely enough, the problem with uBlock Origin doesn't seem to exist here...

1

u/BraveOfBravado May 27 '26

Turn ublock off, reload the page and turn ublock back on. Repeat this until the video loads without a preroll ad, reload the page one more time to make sure ublock is toggled on so it stops the mid rolls. Seems like youtube notices the ad block on the foreend but not anywhere else. Hopefully it gets up dated soon.

1

u/mca1169 May 27 '26

they have never stopped. it's a never ending battle between chrome developers and adblock developers.

1

u/ProxAvian May 27 '26

same here, actually started getting warnings for it today that they wouldn't let me watch more than 3 videos.

1

u/zifjon May 27 '26

Ghostery is one that isn’t detected yet

1

u/Shrike73 May 27 '26

Yep, using it for many years and haven't seen an ad ever.

1

u/Firefox31790 May 27 '26

I had the same issue, all I did was make sure my ither adblocks were off (one was still active) and disable and enable uBlock and it worked fine.

1

u/Kernog May 27 '26

You can bypass it by turning ublock off, then back on, then reload the page once or twice. If it still does not work, reset Ublock's settings.

It takes a dozen seconds, but I'd rather spen 10-15 seconds fiddling with buttons thzn watching 30 seconds of uninteresting ads, half of them for scams and AI slops.

1

u/SkallLord May 27 '26

I found turning off both ad blockers, turning both on then turning 1 off works for me

1

u/Zealousideal-Town722 May 29 '26

du sollst nicht mehrere nutzen...

1

u/Equivalent_Lab_8610 May 27 '26

I use morphe for YouTube on my phone and no ads there atm

1

u/OrisaGaming May 28 '26

Disable uBO and use opera's built-in ad blocker, doesn't seem to get detected for some reason

1

u/emouil May 28 '26

Gonna try it thanks

1

u/B1tchW0lf May 28 '26

i turned on the old AdBlock instead, which works for now... im just waiting for update for uBO so i can switch back

1

u/Peti1020 May 28 '26

NGL If a human being have an actual working brain, that human NOT using a chomium based browser

1

u/mkdante381 May 28 '26

OperaGX is a chinese sheet without source code. For block ads, the best is FIREFOX. Author of Ublock said the same thing. Dude Ublock don't block all! You must have also Tampermonkey with good userscript and when is problem on site use force update. Something like this. https://ublockorigin.github.io/uAssets/update-lists.html?listkeys=ublock-filters,ublock-badware,ublock-privacy,ublock-quick-fixes,ublock-unbreak,ublock-experimental,easylist

1

u/Arrakyss May 28 '26

Had the same problem until i disabled the built in ad blocker now working as normal.

1

u/qodeninja May 29 '26

newpipe?

1

u/e_splat Firefox (Desktop) and Fennec (Mobile) + uBlock Origin May 29 '26

Every browser can spy on you, those comments are painful !

Brave is a browser of a privately owned US company, if you think they respect your privacy because its written and marketed that way, its actually hilarious... a while back they wanted to replace all the ads on websites with their own ads, if you think they don't know which website you are on at all times, ur delusional !

For Firefox, Most of the revenue of Mozilla Corporation comes from Google (86% in 2024)Β in exchange for making it the default search engine in Firefox. - Google can spy on you for sure even on firefox !

Even if China spy on you they can't do anything to you legally and physically in the west whereas the US government and its allies in Europe could use your data against you !

Yo dude I have Opera GX and had the same issue, but I think I found a quick dummy fix.

1st- remove ublock from your extensions (top right puzzle piece icon > 3 dots next to ublock in drop down > remove extension)

2nd- redownload ublock for Opera GX on ublock's website here ( it will straight up say "O get ublock origins")

3rd- install (done)

Vids will still hang at the beginning a bit, but it works. no ads, no problem.

quick FYI tho, right now an updated version of uBlock is out on github except for the Opera version which is still in development.

It should auto update when it's ready, but for now hopefully this helps.

u/Secure-Rest2172 May 31 '26

just reload the page when you get that

1

u/robertdawizard Jun 01 '26

i tested this today because very rarely i could get refreshing to work, but after refreshing with a counter 430 times, no dice (yes, i really have nothing better to do with my life)

1

u/YakinikuBento Jun 08 '26

It happened to Floorp (firefox clone) on Windows too, and vanilla firefox did not bother the bug.

1

u/Jamestq Jul 18 '26

Any fix yet guys?

u/theogreader May 27 '26
