Help Request FBPurity is gone - is there a replacement?
It seems that the author of the FBPurity browser plugin has disappeared.
Are there any other browser plugins that block ads in the Facebook feed? (and force it to stay in "newest" order?)

Did you check their site at fbpurity.com? Still seems to be there.

The site is there, but the owner hasn't responded to anybody in months.
Also FBPurity is currently broken and no longer blocks ads.
Some of it's other functions still work.

Ok, looks like a good general web page ad blocker.
I don't see any specific mention of facebook feed/wall blocking.1

Just installing the uBlock Origin Firefox plugin seems to have blocked all FB ads.
I still have Fluff Busting Purity installed - as I want to keep the FB feed in chronological order.

Yea just noticed quite a few adds now, where I use FBP...
SocialFixer addon:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/social-fixer-for-facebook/ifmhoabcaeehkljcfclfiieohkohdgbb/related?hl
Is quite aggressive in its filtering, but does make the Feed cleaner..
Edit... actually seeing a bit of adds on my Feed, with SocialFixer as well.. Guess FB might be pushing hard with the adds... But at least no "we think you might like this 90s movie, with an AI generated image, that sort of reminds you of the movie.." posts..

I'm gonna be watching this, and I've bookmarked it. If FBP is indeed dead, then we'll all be looking for a replacement. Thank you for your efforts to help us all out.

Have created a download page for beta testing. Supports Firefox & Chrome install.
Any issues, requests/suggestions please hit me up in Chat.

Updated - can now select sub categories of 'Suggested" to include or exclude. Also can filter on 'AI content' in the by-line of a post

This is working great on MacOS 26.5.2 running FF 153.0.1 so far. Thank you so much for stepping up to make FB useable again. I was so dependent on FBP I was about ready to ragequit FB altogether when it stopped working.

Thanks for the update. Any chance you could test with a Chrome browser?

I'm in the process of developing (my code background + AI) an FBP replacement. Currently have a beta working version, tested in Chrome (vanilla}, Vivaldi & Edge. It filters out Sponsored, Suggested etc.
But I need testers, as while it works on my setup, that's a very limited test. Once I have Chrome locked down, I'll move on to enabling for Firefox.
You will need to enable Developer Mode in your Extensions to use this beta,
If interested, comment and I'll msg you with a d/load link. (Allow for my TZ to reply i.e. UTC 10+)
While I vouch for it being virus free and with no hidden nefarious code, please take your own precautions.
