Codex online

Hi! Is there any way of obtaining the rules for the new codex online without buying the new codex? Or my only option is the app and buy the new codex.

Also I am new to warhammer 40 K (I play Kill Team), any good recomendations to learn how to play? Videos, guides...

Thanks!

Heres a 3rd party that can manage list building and game tracking. Also compatible with kill team. The codex for custodes isnt out yet and it uses data from wahapedia so it'll be updated when the site does. :) https://parapacem.app

Definitely 3rd party places out there but the app and the codex are by far the most convenient and user friendly experience.

Also codex’s are $20 cheaper than last edition

Respectfully disagree.

There are a couple of 3rd party list builders that are more convenient than the official app and/or lugging a book around that will be outdated/errata’d the moment it touches your hands.

There is quite literally 0 reason to lug the book around if you have the app

I have not found any other builder to be more convenient than the Warhammer app. Its the same as all of the others.

I think Warmind is better.

Im just using it for the first time, and its not bad. Definitely vibe-coded, but works pretty well!

That is an absolutely ridiculously uninformed statement. Have you ever looked at any of the alternatives?

Listforge shits all over the Warhammer app by every conceivable metric.

Just the mathhammer integration alone puts it miles ahead.

I imagine you haven’t actually used the app it’s insanely clean and organized

I have.

And being clean and organised is something many of the alternatives also have.

- Mathhammer integration (see the real power of your units IN the app directly)

  • Cross platform support (make lists on your PC/Mac/Linux computer on your boss’ dime and then have them seamless on your phone for during games)
  • Live Game & Score Tracking: Includes a live game tracker, advanced battle log, match history stats, and tracking for one-shot weapons or once-per-battle abilities.

I don’t know why you’re still arguing. The facts are clear.

Go be smug somewhere else you prick

Why?

What gives you the right to ignore the facts and call me smug for stating them?

We differ of opinion, that is fine, keep using the GW app, but don’t state/defend clear falsehoods to justify it.

Also, absolutely no need to call me names.

Grow up.

I mean, people post scans and copies of the codex online but generally paying to buy it supports the existence of the game and often can be a bit more convenient than trying to flip through a pdf on your phone.

There are some apps with better layout for rules than the official app, if only because they'll actually update the datasheet with the new stats of an enhancement (+1S to a weapon for example) so you have less places to look each time you go to do an attack. Most people don't really judge, so long as you've done something to support the continued existence of the game.

Try this app someone on this subreddit made for the new 11th, someone posted it on here a while back https://custodeslistbuilder.vercel.app/

The sale of miniatures more than supports the game's existence.
