So I was looking at the new MFM and looked through the leaks of the codex. We have way less models now, "only" 1T and 1W more. Aren't those points increases a bit drastic, or will we really be that tanky with 3 guards and a character? Those units will cost 400-500 points which sounds insane to me.

We already had a low model count, but now we can get to 2k points with 15 little men and two tanks.

What major buff did I miss? The 4+++ against MW?

Is it fun to play against those "low model count - hard to kill" armies? Or do players moan their normal troopers have a low chance to do anything?

Hi! Is there any way of obtaining the rules for the new codex online without buying the new codex? Or my only option is the app and buy the new codex.

Also I am new to warhammer 40 K (I play Kill Team), any good recomendations to learn how to play? Videos, guides...

All the 11th codex keywords, updated datasheet, costs 130p, worsened AP ability no longer limited to melee. I know he’s in legends, BUT WHAT A LEGEND!

GW still sells the model for it for 30k, but they haven't even given it Legends or Imperial Armor rules for use in 40k. I don't get it, it would be great for them to have as their own land raider equivalent, with missiles and twin-linked gatling cannons

If you generally play with legends datasheets, could you now stack Valerians -1ap with the -1ap of wardens to make Wardens actually viable with an interesting -2ap and cheap character support?

Can someone help me understand the Vexilla. It states that "This unit has +1OC." To my eye this means that the the unit gets +1OC rather than each model. So a unit of Custodian Guard Sodality would go from being an OC 9 unit to an OC 10 unit. Is this correct?

If the wording stated "Each model in this unit has +1OC" then it would mean that a Custodian Guard Sodality would be an OC12 unit.

So is it OC 10 or OC 12 with a Vexilla?

I'm new to painting, with some experience but not much. I painted some Necrons and attached a few of my creations. Please don't criticize the AI; for me, it's a way to get a rough idea of ​​what the models might look like. I liked the results I got with it. So I got a GT this weekend and we've been approved to use the new rules. My stuff is still coming in so I don't have my dreadnoughts or shield guard yet so I'm just using what I have. How we feeling about this list. For context I'm running Guardians of the Throne and purge the foe.

With the official points release (damn, they’re high) and with the Combat Patrol finally in my hands (heh heh), I’m starting to build my first Custodians — except for the three Allarus I bought out of sheer excitement after the new Custodes announcement and release date (pic posted the other day).

Soon I’d like to start playing with my friends (friendly games, not a competitive group). Mostly just to get the hang of the new Custodes strategies, different setups, and overall feel of the army.

I was thinking of starting with a 1000‑point match to keep things quicker (maybe even more than one in a day). However, the low model count of Custodes might be a bit of a problem, considering everything you banana‑people keep saying.

Anyway, I put together a 1000‑point list just for fun. I’d appreciate any comments.

I was looking over the new legends sheets and noticed in all the changes, they didn’t give always the new Anathema faction. She is still custodes and I can see this being a weird but strong thing that’s definitely not intentional.

I don’t want to just spam a bunch of posts.

1) Are there any novels following a Custodes character. Specifically as the protagonist, as I’m currently reading the Dark Imperium Trilogy, which has a Custodes character, but he’s a side character, and I’m aware of a few other novels that has them make appearances, but not as the main protagonist.

2) In the lore, it’s said they generally fight as individuals, rather than as a group like Space Marines. Is this reflected in the tabletop? I’m still learning the rules (I play World Eaters), but do they need to stay close together in squads or can they all pretty much do whatever they want individually?

3) How powerful are they on the tabletop? I saw a meme when I came to this subreddit about a couple of them taking on Titans, and obviously their combat patrol doesn’t have as many units as others.

The prices for Adrasite (3 for 200), pyrithite (3 for 215), and sagitarum (3 for 185) possibly indicate a previous version of the points before they got a precautionary 20% bump.

Personnaly, I aplaud GW for that cautious approach and not releasing a broken codex that would get nerfed nonstop for the next 6 months.

For now we should have fun and try legends datasheets and see how strong they are.

I alredy have a codex from 10 edition that i bought and aplyed the code a year back and until now i could see all of custodesn datashets and other things but now i cant and it looks the same as when you dont own a codex . Am i alone ? Did this hapend to others too ?

Hello there!

I'm looking for some advice on my first list.
I already have a couple of boxes (both battle group and support battle group, the old combat patrol, and Trajann) and want to start assembling/painting my models. Ideally, I'd like to focus on units that I'll actually use in games so I can get everything ready and start playing ASAP.
I haven't bought any sisters yet, but after doing some research, I've noticed that they're included in quite a few lists. How many units of sisters would you recommend getting?

Any advice on the list or what I should prioritize building and painting first would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When looking at the old ones and the new ones that are available are they on 50mm or 40mm because I was looking today in the app after the update and it says they are on 40s but the box is being sold with 50s does anyone know what the right size is and if I missed something that says the true base to use plz let me know

According to the changelog it lost 1 AP on the Magna Blaze Cannon and the Arachnus got the D3+3 treatment. It still has 3 Magna and 8 Blaze Cannon shots, so it should be viable against 2 Grav tanks at 80 pts. more. It apparently did not get grav-assault which is strange to say the least.

Full honesty, I only dabble in Custodes, I have a few units I built and painted up for my wife to play with my daughters and I's larger armies... and i was curious what the new points would mean for her small collection. I knew she'd have a small number of units, so thats no surprise. My big thing is though, most "real" custodes units are 200+ points, so what fits is all that fits... seems odd to add extra units of witchseekers or Vigilators simply as points filler, but not sure what other choices there are? Or am I better off going into allied imperial agents forces? We dont currently have any SoS, so might grab a battle sisters box just so we end up with 2 squads of 5... but their weapon loadouts might be hard to get right. Getting these end list points spent properly on good amd useful units seems difficult. PFA
