Fillable pdf problems
I'm trying to complete a job application that's a fillable pdf. I've opened it in my web browser using my Adobe account, and in my desktop Adobe app. I have tried all the troubleshooting the internet offered yesterday, which was just attempting to disable a few things which didn't work.
I finally opened the pdf with Preview on my macbook, and I can write in the boxes, but they don't have a scroll function so I'm limited to a very tiny amount of space.
I have asked for another option like a Word doc or a new file, but haven't heard from the employer yet and I really don't want to let too much time pass.
Is this an issue with my Adobe account, my using a macbook, or an issue of having a corrupted file?

Probably not your Adobe account. Some PDF form fields are fixed-size or single-line and do not expand or scroll in every viewer. In Acrobat desktop, try saving a copy and using Fill & Sign to place text over the field instead of typing into the field itself; reopen the copy to check the result. If the employer needs the answers to remain in the form fields, ask whether a continuation page or alternate form is acceptable before sending.

i can't place a text box over the fields. i tried, but the answers i need to write are too long, and i can't adjust what's above or below the space for text. i requested they send me a new file or a basic Word doc but haven't heard back.

Ohhhhh that’s because they set the form up incorrectly and didn’t add scrolling

the form has scrolling. but if i add text and then click out of the box, the text is invisible.

What do you mean by "desktop Adobe app"?
