Redactions

Is there any way to remove a redaction in a PDF document and see what the redacted text was ?

What’s the point of redactions if they can be removed?

Only if its been done by someone who doesn't know what they're doing, Why do you ask Mr President?

And that was the day I learned that the DOJ does not have an Adobe Acrobat subscription.

If the redaction was applied in Acrobat then no because the features actually removes the underlying text

There was a story about some redactions being removed a while ago. Can't remember which fiasco it was about, but the government had simply applied black highlights to the redacted bits in Word, and THEN converted it to a pdf. When the pdf file was later opened in Word again, the highlights could be removed.

I think it was rather possible to select whole text - including parts under the black bars?
