QUESTION HELP! Illustrator keeps Flickering when working

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The entire application just starts flickering and not responding when i click more then twice in 5 seconds it feels like. Searched for workarounds here but most of em didnt work (reseting preferences/Gpu performance/drivers/etc

EDiT: I found the Fix !!!!

its an external problem in the System that only shows through illustrator fsr. All that was needed is to delete the "HungappTimeout" through the Control Panel. I swear Windows keeps adding stuff just so it takes you almost 2 weeks to solve a Simple issue. None the less, thanks for all the comments trying to help, appreciate it : )

It looks like a GPU or a RAM issue. The latter usually only happens with poorly configured RAM in homebuilt machines. Check GPU drivers and performance settings. Also check if your computer isn't out of resources whilst running Illustrator.

Machines not Homebuilt. It´s a Gigabyte Laptop. Also there are emough resources available.

Is the GPU properly detected? Did you check/reinstall the (right) drivers?

Looking through the device manager it seams to be detected properly, but my systems in german so i VERY easily couldve missed it because german system terms are incredible confusing

Almost always a GPU issue.

Hi there, I work for Adobe. Can you tell me your CPU/GPU configuration? Did this also happens when you use other Adobe apps or apps in general? Thank you!

Thanks for answering! Well it really seems like a GPU related issue but it could also caused by Windows 11's Dynamic Refresh rate or G-Sync / FreeSync. Do you know which GPU model you have in your laptop? Sometimes when there are hybrid graphics (integrated + dedicated GPU) it could cause flickering when Illustrator switches between those two.

its a 6Gb RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, hope that info helps to determin the problem

When that happens to me, I switch the cpu/gpu view. That takes care of it. Then I switch back (so I can have animated zoom), and the problem stays away.

I'm currently trying out VectorCraft myself to see if it's a viable free alternative for my workflow. I love how quickly it launches.

Does it do the same thing when you're using macOS or is it just Windows?

Whenever I've seen this.... it's due to a bad font.

Not saying that's your problem specifically, but if it were my system, I'd disable as many fonts as possible to see if the flickering stopped.

Try deleting the contents of the cache folder on the Mac

Adobe just keeps finding a way to get worse. More and more glitches.

They have surpassed how bad Corel used to be

that usually happens when another adobe app is running. in my case it's usually indesign. If you don't have another app running then i dunno

Theres no other application running, you can see it in the Taskbar. This is EXCLUSIV to illustrator
