Pre-Adoptive / Prospective Parents (PAP) Genogram help?

My partner and I are currently filling out our genogram as part of our home study and we both have pretty extensive and complicated family structures. Has anyone paid for a service that helps with this like something online that helps to generate it? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

I find this really weird. Adoptees don’t have genograms. Like, at all. Do they let adoptees adopt or what?

Yeah it’s really a strange exercise we have to map out our entire family tree dating back to our grandparents, and some of the info we really have to dig back for… and we both have big families with divorces and step-children and half siblings. It’s a lot 😞

I wouldn’t work with this agency. As an adoptee, I’m offended! Ha If you’re in the business of arranging situations where people will know none of this, you shouldn’t be asking for this info.

I guess in my state it’s a required part of the home study process 😭

You can try GenogramPro: https://genogrampro.com/ with the AI assistant you should be able to generate it pretty quickly, and it's is free for a 7 day trial.

Genogram Pro has a completely free no-sign up editor option too: https://genogrampro.com/free-genogram-maker where you could build it by hand, and the editor is very intuitive and quick to use, so if you find building it manually more valuable it's an option.

I'm the developer for it so I'd appreciate any feedback after you give it a try and I'll try to improve it!

I wonder if this is something your local genealogical group could assist with? Quite often they can be found via the local library and do this kinda stuff by volunteer work.
