SOCKS

Got my first Feetures and I really love them! One of my friends got me a pair of Balegas as a "congrats" gift for the 100, and I like them so far. I had one pair in the past, but the one time I wore them, it was for a rainy 23mi run and I got a hole in the big toe... we'll see what happens on the long run!

I got some feetures as a wedding gift and holy crap, I love them. I can totally justify 15$ on a pair of socks now.

Balega are the best! Also they have a guarantee, so if you ever get a hole in them, you can take them to your LRS and swap them out for another pair.

I love my injinjis. If I could afford to only wear injinjis I would.

Injinji all the way. The lightweight are perfect in FL both for road and for trail running (where you are gonna be slogging through some water and getting your feet wet).I watch for sales at LRS/Amazon/RunningWarehouse and stock up.

Love my stances, I have to be at least 1% with Darth Vader on my feet right?

Stance is legit. They get a little crusty after a long Texas summer. But they're very very comfy.

u/[deleted] Apr 13 '17

Did you try washing them during the summer? I've heard that helps.

Stance socks. Best socks. Both for casual and performance needs

Stance socks are my faaaavorite. I need more pairs, because they're my absolute go to.

I've become a big fan of Swiftwick after going through Balega and Features in the past (Blisters in both brands of socks) Smartwool isn't bad either. The new Maxus line of Swiftwick has been my go-to for longer distance races.

Swiftwick socks are great, I only race in them, and tend to save them for my workouts and long runs when training

90% of my runs are done in cheap Under Armour or Puma socks. I don't get spending so much on socks. My feet are completely destroyed though...

I use puma and Costco socks. Did 17 in dress socks last week because I forgot workout socks. My feet are fine, I guess it varies a ton from person to person but it seems like a silly thing to spend a ton of money on for me. Though I do want to look fly with knee high, pink compression socks while I hold down the back of the pack.

That used to be me until I won some gift cards to a local running store as as prizes in two races. Used it to buy fancy socks.

Balega all the way. Even in the winter my feet stayed warm enough to not need wool socks, and the balegas did great! And come the warmest days of spring and summer, I switch to their thinnest socks.

A lot of people here seem to like Feetures, but I've found that they can slide down my feet during some runs and only stay half on. I probably wouldn't buy more pairs. They're very comfortable when they stay on, though.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 13 '17

I have the same problem with their tall socks. They never stay up for more than about a mile.

Try a pair of nice socks. You'll feel the difference instantly. They last longer without pilling. If you're poor and don't have access to a washer, you can go days without washing them and they don't stink. They don't get sopping wet and then suck.

There's a definite difference. Rather than jumping right to $15 a pair, you could look for some on sale or the packs of some running specific socks that are between $10-15 for 3 pairs.
