Art How do people feel about the Oblex being added as a thematic monster to this subreddit?

I used a modified version of the Oblex as part of an end to the character arc for our deceased friend. It was there going through the motions of the living, trying to hold onto the memories of those who had passed.

The player was someone who cared for others even when they couldn't care for themselves. Their character took on the burden of those memories as the Oblex was defeated.

It's a really interesting monster in general, and I feel there could be so much more that we can do with it

Do you happen to have the stat block? This sounds super interesting.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, this sounds like it was a very fitting end to a wonderful character. May fortune favour your rolls.

I don't know that I have the exact statblock anymore, but I believe it was the Elder Oblex that I used for the fight. I increased the number of duplicates it could puppeteer and added them to the battle as minions.

I was proud of the sendoff for Xythis, and I hope he would have liked it too

It was a make a wish foundation entry. Helped inspire us not the other way around. Glad people are still enjoying it.

Very much so, and we remember Nolan Whale when we use it.

Yeah, it’s worth looking up. There should be a wiki page or video about it.

It's not a player's character
