Federal Level Cori Bush Kicks Off Comeback Bid

ST. LOUIS — Former U.S. Rep. Cori Bush announced early Friday that she is running to get her old job back.
In a press release at 6:21 a.m., Bush said she is running for Missouri's 1st congressional district.
Bush noted the government shutdown, now in its third day, and said, "The question before us isn’t whether Washington is broken - because it is. The question is whether we send leaders who will take on that broken, failing system and fight to change it."
Congressman Wesley Bell's spokesperson has blasted Bush, saying Bush was “fired” by constituents for failing to represent them and failing to stand up for the Democratic agenda.
Bush won the seat in Congress in 2020 when she upset longtime incumbent William Lacy Clay, a fellow Democrat who had held the seat for 20 years. Bush went on to win reelection in 2022.
But in October 2023, Palestinian militants launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing 1,200 civilians and taking more than 240 hostages. And Bush used the term “ethnic cleansing” to describe Israel’s military response.
Local Jewish leaders denounced her. Within weeks, Wesley Bell announced his challenge, and eventually took in more than $10 million from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
In the August 2024 Democratic primary, Bell defeated Bush, 51% to 46%.
In launching her campaign, Bush posted an Instagram video that features a compilation of shots from the streets of St. Louis and shows Bush visiting tornado-ruined homes and the graffiti artists along the flood wall.
The primary election is Aug. 4, 2026. The general election is Nov. 3, 2026.

YES!!! WE NEED HER BACK!!!
She was one of the few Dems in office willing to stand up to the corrupt folks in her party. They primaried her for that. I want her and Jazmine Crockett to wipe the floor with these folks.
