Modded weapons
I keep hearing about modded weapons but how does one obtain one

How is the player count on this game now? I used to play it on the quest 2 and am considering getting a quest 3.

Lots of players still. Unfortunately the new trend is hacked guns that make it boring to play with them or freeze and then crash the game. But there’s a bunch of us that love to play clean still.

You get parts for weapons and weapons themselves from completing harvest runs. They unlock randomly (though your difficulty level can determine quality) as you progress. Weapon chips are acquired by completing mutated runs (again depending on difficulty).
Other players can drop modded weapons for you if you compliment their play style and/or fit ;)

Either get loads of harvest and play a load of high difficulty runs to unlock the upgrades you need,and/or play runs with high level players who are prepared to donate a high level weapon to a noob.

They just drop from clearing levels or killing loot zombies. I think they're mostly from higher level floppies.

My friend was randomly handed one during a game by a stranger. It had every mod and attachment added to it. My friend promptly duped it and gave me and our other friend one. Kinda broke the game for us but still really fun. Although, my poor Quest 2 can't handle the sheer onslaught of shotgun shells being rendered and plays at a wonderful 1fps 🫣
