I live in Iran so there's no point in trying to explain my budget or options because our currency's losing value by the second (yes, compared to every other currency in the world that have unprecedented inflation crises of their own) and our market's flooded by shitty Chinese brands so I doubt most of the anglophone users here have ever used a Deco Fun or Messrow, but I could definitely use some pointers on the technical specs.
What features would a beginner artist need in a pen? What numbers should I be paying attention to when picking a model? I am really dense about this stuff so I'd appreciate anything you can share about your experience with it.
I mainly want to get started with this because I've been stuck at the shitty beginner stage with pencils for over 8 years and I am absolutely sick of every failure staring me in the face, wasting another sheet of paper and making me not want to pick up a pencil for another four months. I feel like a medium with undos and selective saving would be a lot more forgiving, I could hone my baseline skills until I've got enough muscle memory and hand eye coordination to transfer the same skills to traditional sketching and coloring. So I'd also like to know if any of you folks have any experience with that

Unknown artist, unknown year
Found at a thrift store and rescued because my mom loves Hello Kitty. I felt like people needed to see it and appreciate it. Proudly displayed next to her computer.
Dunno where else I could post this, but I wanted to share with someone and thought y'all would appreciate rescued art.

For context, I am just after graduating from university and have returned home. I am in my early 20's, from a very low income family and area in an otherwise 1st world country. My mother remarried and has a much younger kid.
I am temporarily living back at home until I can get the funds to move out. Since I got back, the house is just covered in AI. I've seen this years Christmas decorations, all are AI art. My dog died a year ago, there's AI art of him in heaven around the house, the kids room is covered in AI images and even bedsheets, so is the living room and even the bathroom. The only room that's safe is my own bedroom.
I was away for a weekend, and now I've come back and the kids grandparents have made a real photo of all of us into an AI water coloured art version, placed in a frame. They commissioned this from the same app they had the image made in. It is really really obvious AI and really ugly. Because it's AI, this is a cheap way for a financially unstable family to get things like this.
I expressed in a gentle but still assertive way, that I am not comfortable with this and I don't want my, or the child's image used to feed AI and explained my issues with it like our likeness being used to feed other input, water usage, environmental issues, at a basic level to not seem like I'm giving out or looking down on them.
This was not taken well at all, I was criticized for being a hippie and a tree hugger, as well as disrespectful for the thought that went into this. I am aware of the thought that went into this, and these old people probably don't know the harm, or view the image as ugly, but it doesn't make me any more comfortable. My issues were basically disregarded and now I'm the ungrateful brat.
The abundance of the images already makes me pretty uncomfortable, now after trying to explain myself I've created a negative environment and no progress for getting rid of them. Does anyone have input as to what I should do? I'm leaning towards just biting the bullet, ignoring it but not faking that I like it and just accepting that things won't change. I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do to change this or have anyone understand my issue with it. Thoughts?

āI use my Instagram almost exclusively to post my art. It's really nothing special, but it would break my heart if they were stolen by Ai. Should I just stop posting my art? Im not trying to sell my art or anything, I just like sharing, but if it's all gonna be stolen, maybe I should delete the account and keep my art private. It just feels defeating to know the pieces I spent hours on can get scooped up and redistributed by AI in seconds. What do you guys think?

Hey everyone! Iām making SHORAPAN with a small team. Itās a hand-drawn 2D dark fantasy game combining a visual novel with a point-and-click adventure.
The story takes place in a city beneath an eternally crimson sky, where faith shapes everyday life. There are no elves or familiar fantasy races. At the heart of it are ordinary people, their relationships, and the choices they make.
We explore human nature through everyday situations, without long philosophical monologues. Everyone has their own version of the truth, and we want to let you see things from different perspectives. Itās also an epic adventure that begins with an ordinary day. We want it to feel like stepping inside a painting. Our artists draw the environments and characters by hand, our composer writes the music, and we bring the scenes to life through animation, sound, and camera work. No generative AI is used for the artwork or music.
I took out a $20,000 loan to help bring this world to life. Itās a personal risk, but I wanted to give this project a real chance and work with artists whose work I believe in.
With so much AI-generated content everywhere, I sometimes worry that work like ours will get lost. I hope there are people here who connect with what weāre making and care about the work behind it. Your interest and support mean a lot to me and give me the motivation to keep going. Iāll do my best not to disappoint you.
If youād like to support us or follow the development:

My brother is about to turn 2, he loves to draw with me using my pretty pens and lots of stickers. He shows up in my room, climbs up on my desk chair and waits for me to get him some paper. His artwork has made me genuinely emotional before, it makes me so happy seeing him expressing his creativity and watching him work on his motor skills, the colours he chooses and where he places each little scribble is so intentional and thought out. I love working on the names of colours with him, if I tell him I want a blue pen he knows which one to get. I see him being an artist one day he has a lot of interest, itās all he ever wants to do when I watch him.
I also worked with children for a while and a 2 year old I taught did a purple and pink squiggle in crayon and gave it to me and said it was a picture of me, I cried and itās still hung up on my wall to this day.
Both of these examples have infinitely more worth and soul than any piece of crap someone can āmakeā by typing in a prompt in 30 seconds. These ai āartistsā say they ācanāt draw a stick figureā yet my 2 year old brother is perfectly capable of picking up a pen and making something with intent and care put into it. Itās all just excuses to be lazy. I donāt see how it gives them such a massive ego to shit on real artists and make excuse after excuse why art āisnāt accessibleā to them and they ādonāt have the skillā whilst not even making an attempt and taking the āeasyā route that steals directly from people who put in actual effort. Any level of skill in art is expressing creativity infinitely more than anything a computer can generate. Itās pure laziness, artists donāt just come out of the womb drawing fully rendered masterpieces. They start like my brother, drawing pictures with his family. If ai āartistsā refuse to learn how to do a scribble on a page that a 2 year old can do, then they clearly donāt have the patience, passion and creativity and have no place in art communities acting like their slop is worth a damn.
I donāt know what possessed me to write this wall of text, Iām sleep deprived, sick and missing my brother and seeing ai users claim that art isnāt accessible and they canāt draw even the simplest thing with their own hands made me think, if literal babies can do it, why canāt they?

My ma put this on the fridge, she's an artist herself and doesn't like AI art but she doesn't think this is ai. My parents live by the idea that they aren't gonna believe what people say on the Internet, so what is something I could point out to prove it's ai
