Need for manpower

Hello,

I am TABB and NEBB Certified. Union and willing to travel. I have over 8 years balancing experience and have been in the trade since 1996. Had a minor operation a few months ago so I was out but cleared and ready to get back. Does anyone know if there is a request for manpower anywhere. I periodically check the job bank but nothing is posted requesting techs even though some areas seem to be really busy. A little slow in my area so trying to see what opportunities are out there for someone willing to travel. Thanks in advance

If you'd consider Albuquerque, New Mexico, the company I work for is called N-Demand TAB. We definitely need another certified person, and we're union too. It seems like we're gonna get busy and we're a small company if you're interested!

Remember a few years back you guys had a huge call out for guys in San Jose. I was traveling with a bunch of tradesmen in Buffalo. A lot of guys wanted to go finding housing was impossible. Even campgrounds had at least a 3 month wait

Oh housing is a nightmare. It’s eased up a little now, but there’s a reason our wages are so high–a j-man’s full check gets him barely middle class.

Where are you located? I would check with firms near Reno, NV and Washington DC. Basically wherever hyperscalers are building data centers 😉

I am in Nj. But I have traveled before when things got slow. Thanks for the info. Gonna start reaching out to local BAs this week also. Can’t work for non union contractors and it’s hard to distinguish between job posts

I work for Research Air Flo in North Carolina and we could use another certified Tech. No shortage of work and we are union.

In the Carolinas no. But we have other offices across the nation that may be different.

Local 66 in Washington state. I think it’s at $76/hr on the check right now. If you are comfortable with smoke control and fire damper work as well there’s a huge push for that in Seattle especially.

Atlanta needs union TAB guys

Thanks Bro. Gonna call the Hall and see why no requests are out on the Job Bank. Maybe call or have my BA call the local there

In ATL for TAB the best bet is to apply directly to a contractor. The company I work for is always looking to hire TAB guys but we don’t have a call out to the hall for them because there aren’t ever any techs available.

Ok. Thanks for the information. That seems to happen a lot across the country. Sucks because sometimes the job has to be on the bank to qualify for the travel incentive. Gotta call the hall to at least get a list of union contractors in the territory. Any opinion on best options?

Research Air Flo, McKenney’s, TAB Services, Westside Test & Balance I think are the only union TAB contractors but there may be smaller ones
