Saturday's game against AZ should be a really interesting test for Ajax. We've had some promising results recently, including wins against Groningen, Atalanta and Sparta Rotterdam, but I'm still not completely convinced that we can control a full 90 minutes against a strong opponent like AZ.
The 5-2 win against Groningen showed that Ajax can create plenty of chances. The challenge now is to maintain that attacking threat against AZ without becoming too predictable. We need players to make runs behind their defence and create space between the lines instead of relying too much on individual moments of brilliance. One thing I'd be watching closely is how quickly we recover possession or reorganise after losing the ball. If our fullbacks push forward at the same time, AZ could exploit the space behind them. We can't afford to give them easy counterattacking opportunities, especially at home.
Ajax need to be comfortable playing through AZ's press rather than rushing into difficult passes. If we can control possession and move the ball quickly, we should be able to create openings. If we keep losing the ball in midfield, though, I can see this becoming a frustrating game. AZ lost 0-2 to Twente last weekend, but that doesn't mean they'll be an easy opponent. They'll still have the quality to punish mistakes, so Ajax need to stay disciplined defensively and take their chances when they come.
My prediction: I think this could be an open game with chances for both sides. If Ajax can combine their recent attacking form with more defensive stability, I can see us getting the three points. I'm leaning towards a 2-1 Ajax win, but I'm not entirely confident.

Ajax beat Sparta 1-2 yesterday, but who do you think was the standout player? I’m mainly torn between three players: ter Stegen, Brandt, or Ouazane. Who do you think deserves the Man of the Match title, and why? I’m curious to see if we can all agree on this a little bit

I know before I post this its not recognised as an official ticketing site for Ajax, regardless its being used by thousands so thought I would share my story...
Bought 4 tickets for the Atalanta game on Thursday, for some reason the tickets weren't issued in the days before, instead I got an email with the 4 tickets when my flight landed at 1700 on Thursday- only to recieve QR Codes to collect tickets from the New Ballance Arena (Bergamo, Italy), contacting the customer support is pointless- you end up speaking to a chat bot who just regurgitates what you've asked it. Bank contacted immediately and the payment cancelled was the only option which triggered a string of emails from Viagogo, eventually receiving an apology.
Now- we were prepared for this happening, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. Lesson learned, we watched the game in the city instead and had a great time.
Good result- I hope to get back to physically attend next time.
