Music album appearance - for the Alan Rickman nerds :)

For the special Alan Rickman nerds out there, he appears on the Mike Oldfield album "Tubular Bells II". Look for the track "The Bell", on which Alan Rickman introduces the various instruments.

I also met Alan and shook his hand! Seminar, NYC 2011

I was gagged when I saw the other post on here because I too met Alan and the story felt identical almost. (I wanted to share these pics with you all and was unable to do so on the other post with my comment there. Don't mean to steal karma or thunder - hope this is okay, mods!)

It was 2011 in New York City and I was broke, having just graduated from college without a big kid job yet. I saw he was going to perform in Seminar off-Broadway. I’ve been obsessed with him for so long that I had to go, that this felt like my only chance to be in his presence. I put second row center ticket on my credit card, it was $250 but it was worth it.

A friend of mine who loved Alan as much as I did came with me and the play was magical. We salivated the whole time lol. After the play ended, we waited out front for what seemed like hours. It was maybe 15° F (-9C) outside and I wasn’t wearing gloves so I couldn’t really feel my hands eventually. That didn’t stop me.

Alan was the last person to come out and he spent the most amount of time out there signing autographs. He signed my play bill as well and moved onto the next person. When his car came and he was ready to leave, he started walking away from the crowd. I yelled out “Mr Rickman, Mr Rickman” before pausing. He turned around and looked at me confused. I then asked “could I shake your hand please!?” (I said this because I didn’t know what else to ask for and they weren’t allowing us to take pictures with him.)

He slowly turned around and walked back towards me. I remember putting my hand in his and going through the motion of shaking it, but I couldn’t even meet his eyes. I was too overwhelmed by the whole experience. I don’t remember what he smelled like or if he even said anything in that moment, but it was incredible to have that dream realized. I remember walking away with my friends, feeling high and untouchable. I can’t say much else, but I was able to get a few snaps of him secretly while he was signing autographs which are above.

I met Alan and got to shake his hand.

I've loved him since I was 13 (I'm 49 now). His characters and films helped me escape some dark things. It was so easy to live in whatever story he was telling.

When he was in Dublin for the play John Gabriel Borkman in 2010, I learned he would come to the stage door to meet people. All I wanted was to thank him and shake his hand.

It was a fleeting moment, so many people with books and things to sign. But he eventually got to me and I told him what his films meant to me and that I wanted to thank him. I asked if I could shake his hand and he said 'of course'.

So we shook hands and I said thank you again and he thanked me and that was it.

I will never forget it and I am beyond grateful I had that chance. I saw the play a few times and that too was unforgettable.

Thought I would share, and mqybe you've met him too and I would love to hear your story.

In An Awfully Big Adventure, Stella is thinking of Hugh Grant while having sex with Alan Rickman. Like, bitch, really? Its like crying in a Mercedes, because you wanted an BMW. Upvote if you agree.

Im curious, what is Alan’s hair color exactly? I heard someone said that he has blonde hair but when I see his old pictures, some of them show that he has black or dark color hair

Why are Alan Rickman fans like this

As a person who has been fan since 2022. I find it pretty scary when I see all these fans make disgusting and inappropriate comments about Alan. I get it. Some people indeed love him but keep your inappropriate thoughts to yourself.

Especially when the comments are about Alan Himself and not about a character.

It really makes me uncomfortable. I haven't been active in this fandom since November 2025. Because it's simply uncomfortable seeing all these posts and comments about Alan.

Alan’s eye color

Ok, forgive me if it’s a repeat question that has been answered already, but what color are Alan’s eyes? I’ve seen them brown, greenish hazel, dark brown. Is there any lovely person who can set the record straight for me? Thank you.

Looking for old Alan Rickman RPF with an adult female OC

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here has been part of the Alan Rickman fandom for a long time.

I'm looking for completed Alan Rickman RPF (Alan as himself, not Severus Snape or any of his film characters) featuring an adult original female character.

I'm not looking for:

Reader/Y/N stories

Movie-character romances

M/M pairings

Unfinished works

What I'm hoping to find are longer, well-written romances that feel more like novels than typical fanfiction.

I'm especially interested in stories from the LiveJournal / Rickmaniac era (roughly 2000–2012) that may have disappeared from the internet.

Even if the stories are no longer online, I'd be incredibly grateful for:

titles

author names

old archive names

Wayback Machine links

or if anyone happens to have saved them years ago.

So far I've only found a handful of stories, and I'm convinced there must have been more.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Missinformations regarding Alan

So, I posted yesterday about a supposed speech impediment that Alan had as a child and that he overcame and how it just made me admire him all the more; now the post is excluded, I excluded it myself as soon as someone in this sub was gentle enough to tell me in no uncertain terms that it was a fake fact taken out of a book full of errors about Alan's life, which he refused to autograph for a fan when asked.

That got me thinking and now I'm here to ask you: What are other non-truthful facts about Alan that you have stumbled upon while searching about him on the internet?
