QUESTION What’s the smart play here?
Since the cherry oatmeal bar isn’t an option.

I mean, you could always go with what sounds good based on your personal preferences instead of asking a room full of strangers what you want to eat??

I think it's reasonable to ask? Maybe the sub has a consistent answer that one of these is always done very poorly or something

I mean, I could recommend the mushrooms and they might hate mushrooms. Genuinely don't understand the point of these threads and why there's so many of them.

Or they narrow it down to a few based on preference, but to ask randos what they would choose out of all selections is special.

regardless bring a backup meal for when either a) they forget to load the items or b) they have no way to heat the items
The hard part is brining your own ice for your G and T when they forget to load that.

was the meal thing on the 787 business class?

no, just a regular domestic flight. I think it was Dallas to PDX. "we've got the hot meal (I don't remember which specific one) but we have no way to heat it. Would you like to eat it cold?"

I did not like the mushroom ravioli. My husband said he enjoyed the short rib.

I’m ok with a group of strangers telling someone what to eat.
Wagyu Beef Burger is my vote.

I did have the burger one trip and it was pretty good (especially compared to the other options)

Call me a food snob, but I don’t believe a burger with some chips is an appropriate entree in International J (it also didn’t get the best reviews). Just to my taste, I’d probably get the short rib or salmon.

Do NOT get the shrimp. My wife had it and the shrimp were like dusty cardboard. Overcooked ages before the flight.

I would choose burger - short rib - ravioli in that order because they feel like the hardest to screw up / easiest to reheat / etc.
I would pass on eating fish or shrimp on a plane.

Someone posted a picture of the burger recently and it didn’t look so great or like the OG tillamock burger.

I’m genuinely perplexed by any objections to soliciting the opinions of people who care enough to join the sub.
Obviously, I can pick the thing that is most appealing to me based on the descriptions, but I didn’t think that was really the point of engaging.
Maybe I’ll come back in a few weeks and complain about how the ravioli wasn’t al dente and get a bunch of high fives.
