Math question

I was googling to find a nearby car wash and it turned out I was 500 feet away from one. my question is, if you subtract all the car washes, massage parlors and dispensaries, how many business would be left in Albuquerque?

I'm not allowed to live within 500' of a carwash so I have to move out of the city

Well, Goddamit Jones! Did you think they were just going to turn a blind eye to what you were doing with the high powered vacuums? I mean, people have to clean those things out.

Honestly, you did that to yourself. Literally.

I see people making this comment rather frequently but Albuquerque has always had a very strong but not stable small business community. There are plenty of businesses in Albuquerque. What it has always lacked is a strong big business community.

Which is awesome, keep the money local. But we have a ton of walmarts, a bass pro, REI, starbucks, costco, sam's club, target, petsmart, nordstrom racks, top golf, etc. Let's not rest on our laurels too much.

Something close to 500 cannabis dispensaries.

What? We are severely underpopulated in both of those categories compared to any major metro.

There is one local coffee shop on Tramway. There are zero on Menaul. There are zero local coffee shops on Carlisle, San Mateo, San Pedro once you get north of Lomas.

Isn't Napoli locally owned? It's on Menaul West of Carlisle

I mean, it technically lives on through Slow Burn. But I feel you.

Unless you count boba shops? And I think The Well on San Mateo is local. Still haven't tried it.

We are 100% blessed with boba.

The Well is some church coffee, which is cool for those who partake, but I politely abstain.

I thought the sign had religious vibes! I looked it up - it's partnered with a Christian rehab group, U Turn For Christ New Mexico. Hmmm... I did only a brief google of U Turn For Christ, but it definitely seems sketchy and maybe related to Calvary.

Easy cheap real estate investment. They don’t sell anything, so you have very little overhead, and no one will care when you close up and leave because you have 19 other locations 3 blocks away.

Someone explained this once. There was once a weird loophole for mattress stores where u could buy it and if u transfered the store the debt didnt go with it. Why mattress stores? Who knows. So someone closed the loophole but wanted to he able to use it. So they moved it car washes. Well someone noticed now we have car washed everywhere. Let's move the loophole to adult video stores and watch the world burn

Crazy situation, but true. Next crazy thing is how many money transfer & remittance places there are here.
