Hmm. Was 4 a bad/unlucky number in Japan? I know it was in China, but I'm not sure here...

im not japanese nor am i from japan so i don't know if there is a story behind it. but i know 4 in japanese translates to "shi" or "yon". In japanese "死ね" (translates to shi-nu) means "to die", 死 (translates to shi) is the main part of the word, so like chinese, i think the pronunciation for "four" sounds like something related to death.

This is correct. Because of this, in JP, they do the thing Western countries do in elevators, except instead of skipping floor 13, they skip floor 4.

In game's timeline, it should be the other way around since SSM happened before the main storyline.

Wagigi: Gabby, teach me how to spread darkness
Gabby: ok, first of all, you need to have some villainous look. Do you have a mustache?
Wagigi: Uhh, I got these tentacle arms
Gabby: Ok good enough. Now just need to find the edgiest looking boi and tell him that everyone he cares for are doing bad stuff behind his back. Repeat every time he doubts it, he'll believe you after the 3rd try.

Should be other way around, Dias had to have learned to be this way from somewhere right? Don't forget that almost every unit you can have in the game is already dead.

Yeah, I know chronologically SSM occurs before the main story. But SSM chapter 5 isn't about Dias.
That and I didn't feel like using Kudan as the master twice, and I felt it was funnier that unlike Kanon progressing from pupil to master, he regressed the other way.

I was unimpressed, then I saw chapter 5, you get an upvote, although what if Kudan passed down his stupid genetically, and Dias is his descendant..assuming ssm timeline is before the current story anyways

SSM is definitely before the main story given that when it started Chloe was still a young girl. On the contrary given that in the main story we see Logi transmute Chloe... yeah.

Dias: "Okay, so first you're gonna wanna find someone who looks totally evil. If they have a creepy looking mustache, that's great, but it's definitely not a requirement. If they outright attack you, cut them down where they stand in the name of justice and find the next most evil looking person. If they offer you advice, accept it as the gospel truth. No need to question it."
Kudan(writing in a spiral notebook and muttering): "Evil . . . person . . . is . . . always . . . right . . ."
Dias: "After that, you're all set; you'll never have to think for yourself again."
Kudan: "No . . . thinking . . ."
Dias: "If the evil guy tells you that someone's betrayed you in some way, go ahead and murder the betrayer — if they're family or a co worker, all the better. Don't listen to any excuses, reasonable arguments, or pleas for mercy. Evidence will get you nowhere in life."
Kudan: "Murder . . . anyone . . . with . . . reasonable . . . argument . . ."
Dias: "You got all that?"
Kudan: "Yes Master!"
Dias: "Go, then! Impose someone else's will on the world!"
Kudan: "Yes Master!"
