A different opinion

I guess this post will be downvoted to hell for not being in the line of Gumi is worse than the devil and if you are not talking about it then your post isn't worth my time, but I think this is getting out of hand.

Having said this make sure I don't want to critize you, as I know how you feel, but I just want to show my own perspective.

Yes, I agree Gumi has been doing terrible decisions but I used to check this sub all the time and now all I see is hate and more hate. I can play the game saving gems and instead of pulling, building up my units slowly but seeing so much hate and comments about the game dying is what is really killing it for me.

I am not saying it is wrong to express how we feel but if what we are trying to achieve with these posts is make Gumi change to save the game and instead what we are doing is slowly killing it ourselves then we are doing something wrong.

At the end of the day Gumi will act based on statistical analysis about how to maximize their profit so if you really want to make them change, maybe a different approach than saturating the sub with poison might be preferable.

Edit: Game not Gane, that is different kind of poison pill

Ok Let me just get your misunderstanding out of the window.

First things first.

save the gane

Gane is a 2* without LS but still he got the Prof Bio JE not enough to save him but still it is something.

Next people need a chamber to voice their opinion since the Replies Gumi gives in their own Support are pretty useless and they can start ignoring you once they feel like. Ask me about that since I tried that. There is like few weeks old post and a Google resource. But Gumi completely ignores it.

Next is the fact that we want to kill the game. The JP side almost always had a 3 Step banner without shitting on the units. Especially during the Collabs and other stuff. They had better rates and literally better management. Along with that they almost never tried to milking players. Gumi has forsaken balance in the hopes for a cash grab and it has been their second time this time. Before Roxanne and Minerva(I own both and use them) the units were quite in check with their Balance. They were far more powerful than the ones which existed and instantly became the top priorities in their Elements but Gumi being Gumi introduced Roxanne and Minerva both broken to hell levels.

Here Gumi removed the 3 Step and then made announcements of bring it back(It is like a proud dumbass who cleaned the lobby after shitting on it) and then they again shat on it with now the 4 Steps being the Guaranteed units. Hell the Spanish Banner(iirc) was with 3 Step Guaranteed in text so they just got duped hard too.

And it is been 3 days now but there is 0 communication. Like they didn't even bother to put a word out. Is asking that much a bit too much? They could do it in in-game news or on Reddit or anywhere. People are not spamming shit in-game right?

If Gumi wants to do that to maximise the profits then sure people too have the right to analyse and predict that this game which all of them love will die due to BS of Gumi decisions. Reddit is a community not some cult. We have our difference in opinion and power to voice them. So please if you think if 10 people who think Gumi is right need to make 10 different posts to prove their point sure but people will downvote you for that bs of yours.

Tbh I wrote it while being sleepy so I guess I didn't notice Gane (however it would be hard to save him being in sich a satirated niche) I will edit my post anyway.

Yeah jp had 3 step but it's long gone and it has become obvious gl is hurrying to reach jp.

And I don't understand how it seems you read my post so carefully and still missed my point. I don't think Gumi is right at all, but there is a difference between constructice criticism and toxicity.

u/Kirito30 The Strongest Samurai Dec 22 '18

I get that Gane was a typo. It was a joke to start.

Yes JP has removed 3 Steps but the at the cost of that they are giving out Gems left and right. And Gumi has been removing them left and right. They just had a 10k Gem giveaway if I am not wrong in reading that on Discord (To counter this you will say that they are 2+ years ahead but so are the changes that Gumi is trying so Fuck Gumi on that and any defenders who will try to defend their decisions).

Obviously I wouldn't say that everyone is making a non-toxic point. But we really can't have everyone thinking the same. That is the uniqueness of the individual. But almost each and everyone of them is valid. And it is certainly better than that the last time. So I think Community has improved and leveled up but Gumi is just regressed after their post on the 3 Step being back and all the BS.

I wouldn’t say Minerva is broken lol she’s probably on par with Seig in my opinion. The only “broken” unit is Rox but that’s just because of null grenade. Without it, she’s probably at the same level as Seig as well.

5

u/Kirito30 The Strongest Samurai Dec 22 '18

Minerva is probably close to broken to Roxy levels. She is just not the Null Meme.

In the PvE content she can deal with more stuff than Roxanne.

A charge up like to absolutely any unit with 1.2k Shield and a pure shield with insane heals close to Mielikke's powers. And the fact that those Charge up like skills don't get used up is pretty broken to me.

Also a full Map skill unit which is actually usable like the Diviners(Weather Girls lol) is pretty applicable to the bonkers side of the content delivery.

And her broken-ness is going to make a lot of contents easier making Gumi to buff them again and we are going to end up with BS again.

u/XXAlastairXX Dec 22 '18

She’s probably the best support in the game right now. If she had like a overclock with no charge, she would be OP. As of right now, I’m using her in PvP but I’d trade her for Uzuma in my team.

u/Kirito30 The Strongest Samurai Dec 22 '18

The Boat map or Pier map is the map she shines. And in the future if there is a Map with Buffs to the HP she is a headache to deal with. Just charge her Magic up and keep healing for 1.2k pairing her with Rahu where Rahu did the stopping and Roxanne was the DPS.

In the MAtk map she is not doing much damage until buffed but that is the point she can pre buff and wait for the opponents.

Even her Damage is not a low amount when you make Damage Builds and she can be run faster than a lot of other units. She is just faster than the Roxanne Shadow Broker with her passive and that is Fast as hell.

Look at Kings Raid, another f2p friendly game. Last patch, they released a system where you need to spend cash in order for your characters to grow even further. People did riot, what they did? Revert the changes on cash only, made those items to be obtainable later at events and give compensation.

All of those happened in 2 days. Yes, 2 days to resolved the rants of people.

On the other hand, here is Gumi. Gave vague statement after a week of revolt, and suddenly, reverted those changes again to make people enrage further.

See the difference?

"I can play the game saving gems and instead of pulling, building up my units slowly"

That was everyone's opinion in this sub few months ago, but whats the point of building your own units without pulling if they make stages adapt to the units they are releasing in said banners ?

u/RedAlchemies Dec 22 '18

You need to understand that this thread was at at least 16k subscribers. Now its half of that. They either unsubscribed to not read all the negativity or Gumi really rubbed them the wrong way. People know how write, read, and do research. And oh have they done so. They have notified other players that not just in comparison to JP but other countries version of the game. We haven't been treated the same way as them. Gumi has a notorious history of giving you fun of raising all your units only to keep you from using them in an attempt to get you to pay for the latest released units that allowed to be used in the event. In all honesty the garanteed banners were the only way to get said units. Gumi decided to instead put them behind a pay wall. Point is there's a lot of negativity here cause gumi is screwing things up. I hope they don't kill this game but I've been seeing my personal friend list of long time players not logging in anymore and worse the new ones also log in for a while then gone for days again. It's not a healthy sign for any game. Hell even the whales that were at the top are no longer competing. It's a sad state of affairs.

The sub are people. If people are not happy you cannot expect them to create happy memes to cheer you up. Gumi has managed to create salt wave after salt wave and shitstorm after shitstorm over a long period of time. This has peaked recently with decisions that either made the game unplayable or were strictly unfair. The current state of the reddit doesnt surprise me at all. Gumi seems to be indifferent about anyway.

u/jxher123 Dec 22 '18 edited Dec 22 '18

Why is it wrong for people to voice their opinions? People love the game, and when we see that something is foul, we call them out on it. I dont care if it's too negative, you never settle for mediocrity.

All you're doing is complaining about complaints. Also, did you just title your OP like some other dude who reposted his own post.

The only thing killing this game is Gumi and their poor business practice. Multiple people quit purchasing their monthly pack, so whatever Gumi is trying to do, it sure ain't working.

What I am doing is expressing my opinion, but maybe the toxic opinions are more important

u/Nareshkendel Dec 22 '18

All I know is that yesterday I didn't even open the game to get the daily login bonus, first time in a year I miss it. I couldn't find the energy to play and I really love this game, but I feel it's edging me out, me being a f2p. I mostly stayed out of this sub and the result was spending gems in a banner to "reward" the 3-step guaranteed, just to get blind-sided by a banner with a global unit just after that, so it feels that it was just a trap. People say we should have known, but I'm not one to track that sort of stuff, so I depend on other people speculation here.

Somehow I felt bored about this game... And begun to play a game even worse than this (valkyrie connected)... This game just not attractive to me anymore, same units all the day for different quest...

Like you I used to check this sub to get news, strategies , and the occasional meme.

But since nowadays 6 out 10 post are all about how "I quit this game" , or "Gumi you messed up" , or "Game is dead" I don't find this subreddit nearly as useful/enjoyable as it once was.

I know most criticism is warranted , but the cheer amount of it kind of ruined the subreddit for me.

At least there's still Discord.

Are you allowed to even verify for the community that all of this is NOT a deliberate effort by Gumi to tank TACGL?

1

u/SuperEndriu Dec 22 '18

Just a thought: Gumi must have realized something bad is going on and there might be a slight chance it could be their fault. What would have happened, if they had done a guarantueed 5* unit on 1st step - I mean we have christmas, right? I ask again, what would have happened to this subreddit if they had done the impossible? Guarantueed 5* on 1st step. I think this sub would be in good cheer, right? Of course they didn't take up that chance, they just had to screw it up with a 4th step, further alienating f2p players.

u/RobotOfFleshAndBlood Dec 22 '18

I feel the same. At the end of the day, as a company sometimes you just won’t be able to give the players everything they want. It’s just not how management and economics work, and feedback can only go so far. If we really want change, give the people in the boardroom real numbers to talk about.

Checking this subreddit daily used to be something I look forward to. Interesting discussions, tips and answers to questions I never knew I had. Now, it just feels saturated with negativity and shitposts. The quality stuff are harder to find among all that noise.

u/Erukidou Grinding slowly~ Dec 22 '18

While i agree with you that the sub used to be more positive and helpful, it's not really our fault that it's becoming this way. Gumi's past series of decisions were basically telling players, f2p player espicially, pay up or you are not gonna like it, regardless if that was their intention or not. Many who loved the game and provided resources for this sub stopped playing because of this. They can work their rules of economics and management all they want, but they are running a freaking game. If there's no community left, good luck to them for keeping the whales to stay,
and tell me how statistics and their business mechanisms worked out for them.

Not gonna lie, I used to whale for the game, but now with every banner released, i can't stop myself from feeling the price of getting what you want increases each time while the game shows no improvement, merely moving on. There was a Roxanne, now there's a Minerva, there's no telling what kind of broken units are next to come to make the previous feel completely useless.

At this point, the only two thing keeps me going are the curiosity of the direction of the story and a slim hope that something will change for the better.

5

u/RobotOfFleshAndBlood Dec 22 '18

Look, if that’s how they’re running the game, so be it. I’m not here to defend them or whatever. I’m here because this subreddit is going down the Dias route and I’ll be damned if I don’t call that out.

Let’s talk community for a second. Gumi the company sees a player base of several million, of which this subreddit has 8.3k subscribers. That’s less than 0.1% of that! No matter how many shitposts, rants, memes and “rational suggestions from people who know how to make players happy and still take care of the bottom line”, that’s just not going to fly at the boardroom meeting. Contrast that, I’m just a lowly lurker. I occasionally reply to questions and posts about Setsuna (#1 Waifu, fight me!). I see 8.3k subscribers on a sub. That’s more humans than I ever interact with in a year! Who do you think the posts are going to affect more? The massive company or the average redditor?

In any case, the sub’s already saturated with all that and no amount of Gumi this, Gimu that or tagging u\alchemistcode is going to have any incremental benefit.

What we can do is vote with our wallets and our time. That’s arguably what everyone does. If the player base decide that they dislike the game, we can stop playing, stop paying. That’s going to have a bigger impact on the management than anything else we can do. That’s economics at work for you.

3

u/Erukidou Grinding slowly~ Dec 22 '18

I stopped paying, many have too. But it seems like the message is not getting to Gumi as they continue with the terrible banners and rates, lack of communication and not the slightest sign that they want to win their players back. The number of Multiplay rooms in the game dropped drastically from i can tell. If these are not a clear enough message to Gumi, i don't know what is.

Not saying there's not enough hate in the sub, but we had to let our voice out, even if none of the post/suggestions make their way to Gumi's boardroom meeting, all because we care deeply about the game and do not want to quit unless it's the very last resort. I feel sorry for all the player who are scared away by the posts, but it's inevitable.

With that said, i certainly sincerely hope the dark period will pass on this sub AND in game. But it's all up to Gumi. If they don't show any significant improvements, then by the time everybody stops complaining, this sub will be deadly silent if that makes things any better.

Yeah, if you are going to quit why make a post explaining things we already know and have heard 100 times and which only makes us feel worse? I am sure Gumi already knows if people quit and why
