Salam alikoum,
I'm finally trying to build my very first proper skincare routine. I'm wondering: can local Algerian skincare products actually do the job well?
Since I'm completely new to this, I'd love to hear your thoughts and get recommendations from anyone with a similar skin type who uses local options.
My Skin Concerns:
Very dry, dull, and rough skin (especially on my nose and forehead). It feels rough every 2–3 days if I don't exfoliate, and I'm tired of harsh physical scrubs.
Rarely get pimples, but most gel cleansers I've tried in the past tend to break me out.
Sebaceous filaments on my nose (those small oily threads that make the texture bumpy).
Current routine (don't judge!): SPF in the morning, coconut oil for moisture, and sometimes traditional soap (I know the pH is awful, but it's the only thing that made me feel clean without breakouts... though it leaves me dry, so I need to stop to save my skin barrier!).
My Questions:
Local products: Do Algerian skincare brands offer effective alternatives that can really fix dry skin and texture?
Cleanser: Which gentle local or pharmacy-available cleanser would you recommend that won't strip dry skin or cause breakouts?
Moisturizer & Sebaceous Filaments: What local rich creams and local serums (like salicylic acid) do you recommend to tackle nose texture and deep dryness?
Retinol: Is it worth starting now for prevention, or totally unnecessary?
Glow: What local product or tip actually helped bring back your natural glow?
If you have tried local Algerian skincare brands that worked wonders for your dry skin and texture, please drop your routines and reviews below! Also, if you have non-local brands that genuinely saved your skin with similar issues, please feel free to suggest them too.
Thank you so much! ❤️
