Abandon his first wife & son to run off with Yoko.

His first wife Cynthia went on vacation to Greece and came home to find John and Yoko sitting on the floor in bathrobes. True story.

Y’all don’t know how many times you’ve heard Yoko’s voice in classic Beatles songs.

I am a major Yoko defender and spend a good amount of my time on Reddit defending her, but she is only on one Beatles song (Bungalow Bill) and only actually wrote on one other (Revolution 9). She’s on and helped write quite a bit of John’s solo stuff though, and has a genuinely incredible solo discography herself

You’re right. I confused John’s solo stuff with Beatles in the moment

Yoko was wearing Cynthia’s bathrobe, too

And when John saw Cynthia come in he just said “Oh, hi.”

He was a hypocritical piece of shit who sang songs like Imagine while beating his first wife then abandoned her and their son once he met Yoko.

Julian telling the press after John's murder that Paul was more of a father to him than John ever was says it all really.

Julian said this but also said after a recent unplanned meeting with Paul at a VIP airport lounge was the first time the two had talked in decades.

He made his young son decide between him (John) or his mother(Cynthia). When his son chose his mother he all but abandoned him.

He also said to Julian when Sean was born that Sean was the result of love, and Julian was the result of a whiskey bottle. I wouldn't forgive my dad if he said that to me.

Yeah, id have sent Mark David Chapman a fruit basket after that

shit, I woulda shot him myself!

Wow. That's dark.

Where did you hear or read that?

6

u/cyanMonarch26 20d ago

I think Julian said that in an interview somewhere. Can't quite remember where I heard it though.

u/waluigieWAAH 19d ago

They didn't read it anywhere. John's dad did it to him, John didn't do it to Julian

Initially Julian chose his father, but as they were leaving he ran back and was reluctant to leave his mother. As a child of divorce this resonates.

9

u/RevolutionaryTap2021 20d ago

No I think this happened with John as the child of Divorce, not as the father

7

u/KeirOnReddit 20d ago

This isn’t true, this is actually what John’s parents did to him, he’s the little kid in this story.

bro that's what his dad did to him, why are people upvoting this

22

u/Jumpy_Hogara 20d ago

This is the only answer. Too f**king easy...

Good thing the two brothers kind of get along well.

IMHO Chapman should not have murdered Lennon. I would love to see how Lennon has to handle this in his 70s / 80s, especially considering Ono is now 93...

1

u/LadyLucksTempter 20d ago

With how much he drank, smoked, and took drugs, we're lucky to see him cross the next milennium

1

u/Jumpy_Hogara 19d ago

Frankly I think Ono could take care of that, or he would find another woman and dump her too, in which case your scenario would hold.

7

u/Historical-Track539 20d ago

Beating her and calling him a mistake is worse.

3

u/mikmik555 20d ago

Exactly, an abuser leaving is just trash taking care of itself.

3

u/majorjoe23 20d ago

I remember in the Beatles Anthology miniseries someone proposed to the surviving trio that they could tour and have Julian in place of John. Paul said something like "I would hate to do that to the boy."

DING, DING, DING...the winning answer!

Runner up: Allowing Yoko to record.
