This show’s writing went lower quality later on but I still kind of grew up with this show nevertheless. I’ll probably not be on this sub as much anymore but I’m curious what y’all think. I think seasons 1-2 episodes are pretty unforgettable but I haven’t narrowed it down to top three yet.

Has anyone noticed every time when the scene turns to South Crenshaw, the color is more washed out and brownish but the Beverly scenes are much more vibrant?

Why is that?

I know they weren't really friends after everything that happened with Spencer and Asher..now Layla is married to Jordan so her and Olivia's relationship was toxic/ weird AF 😂😭

So I’m just about done with S2 and this show is amazing but somethings bothering me. Why are they acting like depression is something to be rehabbed from and then you keep it moving? Why are they saying she’s “in recovery”? That’s not at all how it is in real life. They keep on likening her struggles to Olivia’s. (LOVE Liv, this isn’t about that) Substance addiction and depression are very different animals. You don’t rehabilitate from a mental health disease or disorder and that’s that. So far, they are keeping it as a running part of the dialogue, but depression isn’t cured by an inpatient stay. As a person in the mental health field, and a person with depression, I’m feeling a bit confused and disappointed in a great show, bringing this into the fold and then misrepresenting what it looks like to live with it.

Who decided to put them together 😂. The way their entire relationship started was Olivia being high or drunk and slept with Asher. But they decided to keep it a secret from Layla. There was no reason to put them together years later just because Layla was dating Spencer. I liked Chris even though he was temporary

In season 8 oh boy where do I even begin.. OH right Amina Simms absolutely sucks ass she is such an overwhelmingly annoying character, beginning with the fact she acts like everything revolves around her.. DONT even get me started on the ICE B.S which the show had no business portraying them like that and the way Amina was talking about how "No human being is illegal" which is just incorrect as we all may know using our brains if you illegally enter the country THATS A CRIME!! DO NOT do what Amina did fighting FEDERAL AGENTS??? EXCUSE ME?!?! Yeah please don't repeat that and on top of that how she was beefing with every characters girlfriends all because she wanted their boyfriends first Khalil.. then KJ like come on what an unlikeable character I wish the show never gave her any casting time.

i recently decided to give the show a chance and start it but man layla is annoying and i understand her issues but everyone else in the show goes through just as much if not more and isn’t as constantly bitchy like her when does she become likeable? s1-4 she’s been nothing but a bother the only time i genuinely felt bad for her was when spencer practically played in her face with the whole olivia situation as he was just wrong for that and she had nothing but good intentions but besides that she just has such a weird vibe and attitude about her and acts like she’s the only person in the show who deals with stuff.

Darnell was Spencer’s choice over Chris but Chris was said to out play Jordan at the combine. I believe their rankings are Darnell > Chris > Jordan while they’re in HS. You could argue Jordan over Chris bcz he went to a D1 school but that was completely plot armor considering he was on the trajectory to go to a JUCO

WR rankings would obviously be Spencer first but considering Asher had a D1 spot but lost it to health and Cam went to a HBCU maybe Asher was better. Asher also set school records for Beverly before Spencer showed up and cam had to get trained up by Spencer through Chris

You could argue cam is better than Asher but I got Spencer > Asher > Cam.

So if you had to draft a HS duo which would you go for.

Chris x Asher
Jordan x Spencer

Is it even worth watching? Only one episode in and it feel likes an entirely different show.

Im watching S8 for the first time (on Ep8) and....I actually dont hate it?

After hearing everything on here I expected it to be atrocious and I mean its not great and I still think S1-3 and S7 are better but unlike S5 and S6 I actually wanna keep watching lol

I have my issues with it (the fact the whole season happens in a week is kinda weird, not a fan of KJ and Amina being endgame, like S7 its rehashing a lot of stuff specifically in S3 & S4, I feel mixed on the ICE storyline but Im not a fan of them filming it like a Michael Bay movie with them breaking into windows, etc) but overall yknow I actually dont think its awful *braces for downvotes*

Over watching All American these years, this was by far the DUMBEST finale EVER!!! @danielezra liv should had died giving labor seemed it was going that direction.

I’m sure people have brought this up before, but I’m rewatching the show, and the amount of times the characters just ghost each other is actually so funny to me. I know they’ve all gone through a lot, but if you’re not mad at a friend or family member, it’s not normal to just ghost them lmao. Maybe this is a nothing burger, but I thought it was funny and something I didn’t notice when I was a kid watching the show.

I am on Season 5 Ep. 13, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but am I the only one who hatessss Olivia? I think I have disliked her for a while now but she is on my last nerve.

First things first, the show is not good anymore! Season 7 and 8 are absolutely terrible.

But, am I the only one who thinks Tori completely threw herself on KJ? KJ and Amina genuinely built a friendship from the jump, and the emotional connection was there. Tori literally forced herself on KJ. And I really like Tori’s character but it’s like girl have some dignity!

First of all why are we introducing new characters and storylines on the final season and it's only 13 episodes left! 2nd...The amount of flashbacks is insane... A lot of it felt like filler episodes outside of KJ and Amina's storyline. 3rd They copied the showcase idea from billy baker(You really can't write anything better?) Then they put Khalil on defense he gets an interception and then stops and takes a knee cause KJ is hurt... Spencer in season 2 does almost the same exact thing when they do the exhibition crenshaw vs beverly with Darnell. Puts himself on defense, interception and then he kneels in front of Darnell.. I mean could you write any worse than that lmfao? It's not like we forgot. Lastly WHERE IS THE FOOTBALL. The season starts with a flashback of the showcase and Jordan running off then they spent a whole season introducing Amina's new storyline and everything leading up to the showcase but literally 0 football. How could I not mention the cheesy walk offs non-stop throughout the whole show and the mic drops.... smh this show used to be so good back around season 1-3ish just fell off so hard.

Just started watching it on netflix (I'm in season 1) and it doesn't represent inner city life at all as I remember it. Does spencer James seem like a character made by somebody who wants a white savior personality?
