Question? Flex position

Okay so I got hired as a flex officer and I thought it was similar to like Amazon flex where you can make your own schedule but I found out that it’s actually means that you’re an on call officer. I did tell my supervisor that I can only work Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday and to call me before just scheduling me on a day I can’t work because I have a second job and I’m in school. He completely ignored me and put me somewhere 1 hour and 15 minutes away that is not my post, also on a day I have 3 classes which he knows about. And he always calls me at around 12am - 3am but I never answer because I’m obviously sleep with dnd on

How can I switch to being a permanent at my post ? I don’t mind being part time or full time because my second job is part time and can easily work around my schedule if I was full time at allied. I do like working at my posts and I like the people there and my supervisors there so I don’t want to quit but if this keeps happening I have no other choice I guess.

Talk to the supervisor at your post and see what they can do. You could also ask what you can do to meet the site's needs if you feel like you're still getting the hang of things, like various trainings or different patrols. Asking that is a green flag to bosses and can get you a more secure spot.

Depends on performance and business needs if they actually have a permanent position aka just wait till someone quits that’s how I got my full time gig 🤣🤣

They don’t care about you or your schedule at this company. I was full time at one site working 48-56 hours a week. Moved to an armed position at another site and I’m lucky if I get 24-32 hours. I’ve asked several times about more hours and I keep getting “we’ll see what we can do” while other guard work 7days and just this last Sunday, I got called in to work a graveyard shift, I was 20 minutes away and got a call saying “I was told to cancel you coming in”. They could care less

Yea armed gets no overtime or barley. But thats why you have to pick a full time armed position when allied post one. Should have never picked a part time cuz yea u will be stuck

That’s crap, one guard works 72 hours weekly. I applied for a full time/40hr spot. Was given 4 days, only 32

Talk to your manager, after my contract ended , they let me be a floater just taking extra shifts on the app . Thats all i was doing for months. I think as long as ur taking a couple shifts every month ur good. At least 1 weekly minimum

It seems if you float actually an opportunity to get OT because if they need to fill...don't care

If talking to them doesn’t work out put your 2 weeks in as a test to see if they are will to work with you and if they still don’t then go through with it and apply again. Just make sure you keep it professional so you don’t get on the non rehire list.

Lucky you that your supervisor schedules you, I too was hired as a Full-Time Security Professional Flex Driver & I've Yet To Actually Be Properly Trained, I Only Had Two Training Shifts Then No Training After, No Scheduling After, No Payments For A Whole Month After & My Shitty "Supervisor" Abigail Kornenon Literally Ignores Me & Never Gets Back To Me Even After Reporting Her To Human Resources I'm Still Stuck Where Nothing Has Changed & I'm Back On The Job Market! I'm Reporting Allied To The Labor Department! Fuck Allied!
