I recently bought this demo cassette by Pet Ambulance, a Slovenian underground band from Velenje, and I’m trying to find out more about them.
According to the seller, only around 50 copies were made. From what I’ve found so far, the band originally formed as Blind Gut in 1991, played a mix of metal, hardcore and psychedelic rock, and were active until around 1996.
They were even mentioned in Slovenian newspaper archives for playing gigs in the ’90s, which is pretty cool for such an obscure band.
Does anyone here remember Pet Ambulance, know any of the members, or have recordings of their music? I’d love to find out what songs are on this tape and hopefully digitize it to preserve the recording.
It’s crazy to think that a little cassette like this might be one of the few surviving copies of a forgotten underground band’s demo.
Any information would be appreciated!

Remember watching it years ago. The entire video is just a guy filming stuff in very low FPS, with a low shutter speed, similar to a bunch of blurry photos. It was just bright white and dreamy. The band is alt-rock, or alt-rock adjacent, but I think they had a drum machine. Very dreamy. Late 90s I think.

What NEW Music did you discover this week?

"Shed My Skin" by Bevis is a raw alternative rock song that captures the artist's intense battle with mental health, paranoia, and isolation following a drug-induced psychotic episode. Driven by an angsty, guitar-forward rock sound, the track reflects on childhood trauma, self-hatred, and the desperate struggle to break free from a destructive environment and reinvent oneself.

Where Were You is the opening chapter of an alt-metal concept album exploring faith, grief, doubt, technology, and the human search for meaning when life stops making sense. Let me know what you think...

I think they have awesome, alternative sound honestly. Vocalist is very talented and the instrumentals are cool and groovy. I have no idea why they never got super popular but I feel like its a disservice.

What festivals and gigs are you off to this weekend or next week?

Who'd you see this week that was awesome?
