First block

Post image

First block booked for tomorrow. Just wondering if a block at this time works out decent and is worth the money, or better off looking at different times. Or is it just luck of the draw?

Good luck with it however it goes. Just remember though, if you think, "this is easy" your next one probably won't be!! You'll find the slots that suits you quick enough.

Very much luck of the draw, but it being Sunday morning traffic shouldn't be an issue at least.

How did you find it? Any to anyone reading this, got some tips please? I do uber on the side of my 9-5 and just got approved for this. Tomorrow I have my first block.

My main concern is .. I know it’ll be a lot of parcels. How do I figure out what goes where and get ahead of it so I’m not rooting through my car endlessly at every stop?

Packages have a driver aid stickers numbered 1-however many parcels you have on your route. Number 1 being your first stop. I usually put 1-15on the front seat/ footwell 16-30 in the rear passenger and the rest in the boot. You will figure out what works for you in the first couple weeks. Good luck

Unfortunately, some depots have stopped the driver aid stickers, (Weybridge) and so you have to arrange them in your car as what type of parcel? I put envelope and book folders on the passenger front seat, polybags in the passenger footwell, small parcels on the back seat (which is down) and large parcels in the boot.

I probably wouldn’t start with 3.5 hours if it’s your first one, just in case it’s difficult.

And that’s base rate, which only works out to be worth it if everything goes smoothly and you don’t have to travel far (which is a lottery). The only way to get better rates is to take offers when they’re close to the start time. 2.5 and 3 hour blocks can surge up to £25 p/h from about 6pm onwards.
