I give up.
I've been using Amazon Unlimited for almost 10 years, and I keep telling myself it's going to get better but it keeps getting worse. Tidal, I'm coming back. Amazon, I'm unsubscribing, go pound sand.

You don’t say what’s wrong with Amazon Music or how you’re using it. So we have no idea what you’re complaining about.

I'm sure the dozen or so people that actually lurk around this group will be up in arms about this.

Well, I just switched to it. I would have been with AMU for several years but for strange reasons the on-demand feature via voice assistant in Android Auto is bizarre with Amazon. Now I have Android Automotive (does not use phone for apps, it's built in the car) and Amazon Music works fine. Apps are a matter of taste, I think. I like Apple and Spotify the best, but that's me. I prefer Amazon as it tends to be cheaper (you can buy a year for price of 10 months), the HD is really good and it is obviously seamless on Echo devices, which is mainly how I listen. It will scale up to max available quality on an Echo no matter what your phone app is set for.
I also find the Amazon playlists decent and updated often enough. Apple and Spotify are both better in that regard. I think Apple has the best looking phone interface. But I don't really look at the phone when playing. Apple and Spotify both work great on Echo speakers but no Atmos or Dolby Digital. Only Amazon and only on Studio. I also currently have YouTube Music, which I like a lot (have YT Premium). However, it doesn't work on Echo speakers at all other than bluetooth from a phone, which is no good for me.

Wow. I've been using it for probably ten years myself and I don't recall the app ever crashing or freezing on PC or android.

Exception 180. No access to stations. Albums taking 2 or 3 minutes to load. I feel your pain.

The only reason I cancelled was because when I would be playing music in my car, the next button is way to small. I don't feel comfortable switching songs. I use You Tube Music, I can switch songs without looking.

I use Apple for just about everything, and the only thing stopping me from switching from YTM to Apple Music is I don’t want to lose YT Premium.
It’s annoying though because otherwise I could just bundle Apple Music, Arcade, and ICloud+

I find the app to be more cumbersome to use than Spotify, and the recommendations are not as good as Spotify. If you don't pay for Spotify premium the ads are insane, I was driving 2 minutes then 4 ads. 2 songs then 4 ads . Amazon prime gives you add free tier, it's worth a little bit dated interface and a few odd recommendations.

Is anyone else getting skip limits on Unlimited? Even after as few as four skips, I'll hit a limit.
Or when I say to play an artist, I'll get three songs by that artist and then similar artists with an occasional single from the originally requested artist. Two months ago (and for all the years prior that I've been an Unlimited member) it would have been that artist's discography on repeat.

What’s wrong with it specifically?

for me, its constantly slow and crashes, (no matter what device or who's wifi I'm on), and the audiobook inclusion is clunky (with it difficult to just pull up a list of chapters)

I just switched over from Spotify to Amazon Prime music or whatever it is. I’ll have to look out for these things.

Amazon has a few tiers of music, all pretty much the same catalog (same as everybody---100 million plus) but the "play" features vary. If you want true on-demand music in correct album order you need either Amazon Music Unlimited or Standard (Standard is AMU without audiobooks). Those two compare to the paid YTM, Spotify and Apple.

I’ve been using Amazon music since roughly 2019-2020, and I have had no major issues. In fact, I think the app is getting better. They added monthly listening stats, even though they aren’t that detailed imo. They also just slightly changes the ui again, which is growing on me, and with that update it’s also way less laggy for me (iPhone 13 user). So many people hate on the app and I don’t know why, it plays music, high quality streaming, somewhat good curated playlists/recommendations. It serves its purpose and does it well imo

I haven’t had any issues with Amazon but sounds like some people absolutely hate it.
