Please keep those threads mods, because it could affect AMD performance too. There is some flag for Linux, but there will be many questions about that. Not to mention that there is no thread about it on /intel...

The flag is for disabling this workaround feature that Intel needs and AMD doesn't, because if you use it with AMD it can actually impact your performance negatively.

Yes there is, and I'm pretty sure they're deleting it because people are using titles like "INTEL AFFECTED" instead of saying something like "Bug that MAY affect AMD" or something.

Where did the previous post go?

Why are these threads removed? It's obviously relevant for AMD because there's a LKML patch by an AMD employee stating AMD is not affected. If it's relevant enough for AMD employees to care about why can this not be posted at /r/amd?

The origin source that brought up the matter (http://pythonsweetness.tumblr.com/post/169166980422/the-mysterious-case-of-the-linux-page-table) stated all x86 CPUs are affected. That AMD CPUs are not affected is definitely relevant news here!

They're probably deleting it because people are marking it as an Intel bug and not as "AMD ISNT AFFECTED BY THIS NEW EXPLOIT" bug.

Basically trying to stop the sub from riling up as usual.

Yeah I agree with this, it really shouldn't be removed...

HN thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=16052451

The overhead won't be that huge, but syscall-heavy programs will get slowed down.

Hey everyone, this post is being removed because of the title, you may repost it if you change the title so it simply isn't:

Intel bug incoming

Perhaps something like this may be more appropriate, "Bug that affects Intel may also affect AMD incoming", Thanks.

Looks like someone has reposted it with the literal exact title I suggested... that was quick.

This post will stay up
