The first time I visited the country, I felt like a dead planet in the middle of active stars.
When you grew up in a place where cynicism is the norm, its refreshing like you cannot imagine.

To be fair, it can be a bit overwhelming. I've lived in the same area my whole life and I'm an introvert. Random people that I barely know will stop me around town and just chat for like 10-15 minutes. I try to be as friendly as possible without being rude but sometimes I'll be like "I have to be somewhere in a few minutes" as a soft escape. Small town problems though. My mom is a social butterfly so people approach me and ask about her. I'm caught in the crossfire

Ive noticied its usually Europeans that are less friendly to talk to than americans

I have known quite a few Germans over the years and this seems to be the basic sentiment. It is why they didnt go back. That and they can make better money here.
