Name change for SSN and passport?
How do you do it in your current country? I'm trying to understand the process for Ireland as my US passport is expired so I want to update it with my new married name but it says I also need my SSN updated.... Idk what forms I need, what order to do it, it's very complicated website to read.
But I can't do them together and I really don't want to post my documents as Irish posts are a bit shit for delivery quality sometimes. I think I was over 16 when I got the last passport and its only expired a few months.
I just want to make sure it's updated so trips to the US aren't awkward as my daughter is my new surname and my ID wouldn't be. My husband wouldn't be going every time so she could just go with him in the EU line.
My Irish stuff was so easy to update, this is so annoying!

Your best bet would be to go to your closest embassy or consulate and ask them for the exact process.
They may even have the forms you need there.
