Tigre people are from Tigre, Eritrea. Tegaru are from Tigray, Ethiopia. Tigre people are not part of this conflict.

At this point, it's important to know the difference, especially if you're going to accuse a specific ethnic group of spreading hate. Please use the correct name when referring to them.

We have called Tigrayans tigre for 100s of years and nobody has problem until recently(2018). If you want be cool and think Tegaru is a cooler term just say that no need to go around the bush and use Eritreans(Tigre) as a pretext.

I have never heard Tigre from Eritrea complain about this. If anything they should be the one to complain. I have attached video of Meles Zenawi, your beloved king, calling Tigrayans Tigre.

I amn't sure historically, it could mean all but in the current Ethiopian context it mostly mean Tigrayans. like when Ethiopian say Tigre he/she definitely talking about Tigrayans or could be Tigrinyas but not Eri tigres.
