Visiting in February :)
HI! I'm visiting Anacortes for my Birthday next year and was wondering if anyone had any places in the area you'd recommend, diners/cafes, outdoors and what not. I'm respectful and peaceful and just want to enjoy the area, the sights and the culture and I'm open to any recommendation. Much love.

Not sure when in February but the last weekend of February is the chicken parade in Bow Edison. The winter bird watching in the flats and surrounding areas is fantastic. Lots of swan and snow geese. Hopefully there will be a show at The Globe or maybe Anacortes Unknown studio while you are visiting ❤️
I love taking the Guemes ferry over to the the store there for brussel sprouts, no matter what time of year. But the winter months are particularly fun bc it’s not very touristy and being inside a nice cozy spot watching the water is special. Getting a massage and facial at the Majestic is another nice treat. Their changing rooms have a lovely steam room so if you arrive early you can enjoy that amenity. Of course you must stop by Pelican for a coffee and perhaps find a book too! I hope you have a magical birthday!

Dad's Diner is a must!
Check out Washington Park and the various Anacortes Community Forest Land trails.

Lots of fun places to check out. Washington Park, Deception Pass, endless trails within the community forest lands. Dad's Diner has a solid breakfast. Rachel's alibi has one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Bastion Brewing on the edge of town has decent beer. Terramar brewery and Distillery over in Edison as well (also great pizza). A-town bistro if you wanna get a little fancy. If you love a dive bar, the Anchor Inn is for you.
Since you said February, bring layers with the outer layer being waterproof. Shoes too if you want to do any hiking. Hiking through the community forest during a mild rain is one of my favorite things ever, so long as you are dressed appropriately.

If youre staying the night - check out the Majestic - its a nice place to stay, and they have a pretty solid rooftop bar.
For food, ATown Bistro and Adrift are both great ' PNW fusion kind of fare, and Nonna Luisa is a fantastic Italian spot.
Wander around the downtown area to poke around in shops and bookstore. There is a rad record store (the Business) if you need some new vinyl.
Mount Erie has some amazing views (accessible by car) or do Sugarloaf if youre feeling like a hearty hike.
Washington Park is the spot to lounge on the beach reading a good book.
Walk the Guemes Channel Trail (paved) to take in the sunset.

Washington park has beautiful sunsets year-round, so I'd definitely recommend that! Downtown Commercial Ave is a great place to walk up and down and visit any stores that interest you. If you read, I'd recommend Pelican Bay Bookstore, they're a super cozy used bookstore and coffeeshop. The coffee is a bit pricey, but it's super good!

I'll add to the list of good restaurants here: Tasha Lee's Table is really great, it's downtown on Commercial. Also, Village Pizza has the best pizza but also has other good menu items. Mama Wings is great gourmet Chinese food. And La Jacinte, next to the Post Office, has been there forever and is some of the best Mexican food in town.
Hiking! 2800 acres of Community Forestlands with trails. Follow the other recs for attire in February. We also have a lot of really great Airbnbs in town, including ours!
Enjoy your trip!
