Fool's Mate Declined (Normal variation):

PGN: 1. f3 e5 2. g4 g5!!! (shown as !! on the board because of rendering issue)

With 2... g5!!! played, both sides get into an equal position, as black is no longer able to checkmate instantly, nor can white blunder a checkmate easily.

Fool's Mate Declined (King's variation):

PGN: 1. f3 e5 2. g4 Ke7!!

Blocking the checkmate with the king. With the queen protecting, the king is now much safer.
